This one is kinda personal, but I'm hoping ya'll will share.

Will you share one childhood memory with us? (can be anything you want, from the first pet to first kiss to whatever....just something from your childhood)

As morbid as it sounds one of my first memories was of my grandfather passing away when I was 3
Being of Scottish descent one of the traditions that was practice more back then then now was Sitting with the Dead. The caskets were actually placed in the the the house and that is were viewing took place. This was done so someone from the family could sit with the dead until the burial.
I remember my father explaining to me that my grandpa had died, he carried me over to where the casket was and I remember asking him if he was sleeping.
I think my dad said yes but he wouldn't wake up again.
After that I was dispatched to a neighbors until the funeral.

I have quite a few.... LOL.... I'm trying to find some of the more positive ones though.

- I would have been about 3.... at the time I lived with my dad and his wicked witch of a partner, as well as my older brother. My brother saran wrapped the toilet one day and got the WW
It was hilarious.... (untill my brother got punished for it)

- School, grade 2 or 3..... (I was always the class clown, poohead, etc.) My teacher went into the storage room, and I stood up and stuck my tongue out at her making a funny face.... well, she came out quicker than I thought, seen me doing it and threw a spelling book at me
then down to the principals office and I think that was my first strapping.

- xmas 1986, I was 9.... My brother was born in June, and he shared a room with me.... I woke up very early, and the rule was, the gifts were opened once everyone was up. I remember laying in bed whispering to my brother to wake up
He eventually did, but my mom heard me

...:Oh my good, Susan...
the stuff that we do as well are childs...

Okay I´m embarrasing everytime that I tell this to anyone...

I got around 10 years old when this happen, in that time, we got a house on the beach but aren´t placed in the edge of the sea, I MEAN it wasn´t on the shore,... you should to walk 4 blocks to arrive at the beach,....
anyway, when you´re child and live near at the beach, you want to be on the shore all time as is possible, swiming, playing football, walking etc,....( I have to make clear that it was a place paradisiacan because it was around to 25 miles from the next city, the services wasn´t available in that time I mean Light and water.....:parnaoid:...) that made magical to be there because we made TENDS for the nights under a coconuts, and Terror historys don´t are waited...

SO one afternoon near to the sunset we and my 2 little brothers as 6 & 4 years old are on the beach and they tell me, "Better we should go at home, is being dark" and I was mischiving around, SO when the sun it was almost done, I´ll take my brothers and the begining we walk at normally and usually do,
(the firts block) BUT the darkeness cover us so fast than I calculate, so the last 3 blocks we do this: ..
and screaming, MOM!, DAD!,....My parents JUMP literally at the street to see what happen and they catch us very very nervous!...
........................
I afraid at the Darkness!...

One of my earliest memories has to do with getting my polio vacine. I was sick a lot as a kid and became deathly afraid of doctors. I remember the nurse gave me a lollipop before I got the shot, trying to keep me calm. The dr. sat me on his desk-top and gave me the shot. I promptly wiped my stickly lollipop over the spot and crawled under his desk. He pulled me out, told me he was sorry, but we'd have to do the shot all over again! *sigh*

My mother raised and bred chihuahuas. There would be a dozen or so in the house at any time. I told my parents I wanted my own dog, a REAL dog but that fell on deaf ears. The day I left home and got my own place to live, I bought a Rottweiller.
