OMG - You would think I didn't feed these guys! Whatever is going into meowmy's mouth MUST BE INVESTIGATED! And in many cases, sampled - including my tuna sandwich, my bottled water and my scoop of lowfat ice cream.

Now tuna I understand... I eventually just scraped the remains of the Subway sandwich into their dishes, since they weren't going to let me eat in peace.

But if they like something - like my probiotic lowfat strawberry yogurt, I practically have to lock myself in the bathroom to get any!!!

I guess I'm lucky. None of my three cats shows any interest in what I'm eating.

I feel your pain, I feel your pain. Like for instance, ANY liquid-containing object that I hold in the kitchen is automatically assumed to be milk, and the two babies go NUTS! It's gotten to the point where I need to let them smell that it's orange juice or something else and not milk just to get some peace.

Right now I'm eating mac 'n cheese with some hotdogs cut up in it (my recipe lol) and Pirate is acting like it's his bowl of heaven (he's not getting ANY- this is my dinner!)

Scooter stuck his dirty little paw into my cereal earlier and tried to tip it so he could get his head in it. I finally had to lock him out of the room he was so insistent. He is usually not that bad.

For years, Trent just had to sniff. It didn't matter what it was or how many times he had sniffed it before, he had to sniff again. Didn't matter when I would tell him "That's Diet Coke, honey. You don't like it."
He'd sniff it and the carbonation would tickle his nose and he'd scrunch up his little face and look at me like "How on earth can you drink that?? That's GROSS!" He never wanted a sample though, unless it was whipped cream or ice cream.

Fast forward to recently with three little girlie moochie moochers. These girls will take food right off my plate if I'm not playing goalie and blocking paws! But it wasn't until Annie came and decided that she likes to sample foods that suddenly, when he's 10 years old (!), Trent decides he can sample food from Meowmy and Daddy too.

She's totally corrupting him!

Chynna has her face and paws in everything I eat or drink!

Abby on the other hand isn't really a people food kitty. She wants to investigate what I'm having and sometimes things like a yogurt granola bar, or the milk from Special K Redberries or caramel rice cakes deserve several licks, usually just a sniff will do. She doesn't usually eat anything that I have, not even steak or chicken.

I about lost it today at lunch. We got sub sandwiches last night, and a gallon of their sweet tea (really yummy), so I had leftover sub and tea for lunch. I don't know what Annie thought, but she didn't even care about the turkey and roast beef and cheese on the sandwich. She was SURE that whatever was in the glass was really yummy and for her.

She would not take her eyes off of it except to come up on the arm of my chair (we eat in the living room
). I tried to tell her that it was sweet tea and she wouldn't like it, but she had to be sure. Not once. Not twice. THREE TIMES she had to stick her little face into the glass to sniff it and make sure it wasn't the Nectar of Bast or something like that.

One time I popped open a can of something that I needed to cook with. I don't remember exactly what it was but I was draining it over the sink when all of a sudden from behind me I heard this horrible pitiful crying screech meow.

I turned to face the most accusing stare. To this day I think Bean Bean thought I was pouring his wet food down the drain.

Man he really knows the sound of the cans with the popper thing that you just pull up.

He He! Daisy is quite picky and fussy regarding MY food! She ALWAYS sniffs my cup of tea! she used to sick her paw in my mug of cold tea then lick her paw! She always has to know what im drinking or eating. She likes ice cream, and recently she has taken to strawberry yog. I always have to put everything up to her nose for her to smell ( Before she sticks her nose in or on it !) Its really funny, if it's something she doesn't like she screws her face up at it ! Tabitha likes cheese and strawberry yog but would rather eat the moths that come in the window !!

Mine are EXACTLY like this too. Earlier this week at the grocery store I was standing in the soup isle trying to decide it it was worth while even buying soup for myself with the pull top cans cause the cats would complain so much. I ended up getting something else for lunch so not to freak out the cats.
