CAts and human milk well milk we drink

Background to the story
I stupidly left a carton of milk out on the bench, clean forgot about it and popped out for an hour or so and we have come back to said carton of milk all over the kitchen floor.

Now im a little worried becasue I know cats shouldnt drink milk incase they are intolerant to it, and they have cleaned their paws because they walked through it to get to us, but Sooty tries everything so im worried incase either one of them has lapped any.

What should I watch out for incase they have drank some?

Probably nothing will happen, but if they do have a lactose intolerance, they will probably have diarrhea for a couple days. I woudn't over-worry about it.

Usually milk can cause diarrhea.....but if they've only had a taste, you'll probally not notice anything different...

If they are intolerant (and not all cats are), they may get a little tummy upset. Or they may get a taste for it. I daren't leave an open milk carton unattended because Milo will knock it over and drink it off the counter or floor. Ellie loves to finish off any milk in a cereal bowl.

I have one cat who is very lactose intolerant and will get severe diarrhea. I have another cat who's not and comes running every morning when she hears me pouring my glass of milk. I allow her a few licks of milk every couple of days. Otherwise, she will have an upset tummy and not eat well for a day or so. I have to guard my milk glass from her!!
