Am I only one that thinks this is the worst possible way to do this? This is the second time my step sister will be dumping her cat to my dad's house while she is gone for a week on vacation. Basically what will happen is they will throw her 3 year old single male cat into my dads house that has always been very moody to everyone expect my dad. So this ten year old female will be attacking him with her teeth and hind legs for 4 days until he attacks enough back and then perhaps like last time they will tolerate each other from distance for last two days. I told them I think this is insane and that I would offer to watch 5 days out of 7 days for hour each day from his own house. Apparently they dont like that idea.

Yes, you raise a good point. If the cats arent friendly to each other it is rather cruel to them both to let them have this severe week.
A better variation is if your dad keeps them apart. In each own room. Or even, if he doesnt have suitable rooms, having the quest in a big dog cage.
Or have someone coming att looking at them, changing food, water, litter, as you proposed.
