Tell me what you think when you view these ....
I was at a cemetery yesterday - we went to see my boyfriends dad's grave..and my dads..2 different cemeteries though. The statues are from the first cemetery we visited, the light was pretty harsh because it was just after 9 am and the sun was right behind the statues...in some cases I included the sun in the images to evoke a feeling and I think it worked...

Hi Cheryl.... I'm not a professional by any means, so this is just my opinion only.

I like most of them (the subject matter does not invoke an emotional response from me), but I don't like the one with the 2 statues. My eyes don't know where to focus on that one, and keep diverting to the background.

In the last 3, I don't think the sun was flattering for the last one you posted.... But the 1st of that set, is well done

My favorite is the very first one. It does envoke a heckuva lot of emotion

just my own opinion, meant as constructive critism..... You did have the sun working against you with this set, and I think despite your challenges you did a very good job.

I'm kind of partial to your landscape photographs, as I think you have a wonderful eye for that.

I agree with the comment about the one with the two statues, I think they were both too much in the foreground to direct your focus properly. But I thought all the rest were fantastic.

I think the sky behind the pics energize the pics tremendously having a huge impact, especially in the last 3. The first and 3rd pics, the sky is definitley a lot more peaceful. Great pics, as usual.

I can't see any of the pics for some reason. I think the computer I'm on isn't showing them.

I agree with the opinions expressed about the one with two statues.

I can see why you're drawn to the last couple. I do agree, though, that the sun behind can be distracting, and I think it is a bit. Can you work with the sky a bit in photoshop and dry to darken that sun a bit and boost the contrast on the rest of it? That might reduce the distraction of the sun, and make it an asset. Also, you have great cloud formations on those that really enhance the photos.

Great job!

Beautiful photographs!! (I LOVE cemeteries!) I think the way you placed the sun behind the statues is totally awesome! It gives them a "halo" effect that is absolutely stunning! And that sky....wow!
