Nuh uh...might give me away!
So, my birthday was this past Thursday and for some reason I was a bit depressed. (Might have been because by 7 p.m. my Mom, Dad, and one of my brothers were the only family on my side to call. My mom had to call and remind my grandma.) Anyway, I didn't expect my oldest brother to call, because let's face it, I can't remember him ever calling me on my birthday since I was 19 or so.

Fast forward to yesterday and Brandon's cell phone rings and he answers it. Turns out it was my oldest brother calling to talk to me (for some reason they lost my cell #). He apologized for not calling Thursday and wished me a Happy Birthday.

There's no issue between us, I just figure with his four kids and all that's going on, he just gets busy and doesn't think about the days.

Anyway, just had to share the fact that I couldn't believe he actually called to wish me a Happy Birthday.

So in other words you were extremely happy that your older brother called to wish you happy birthday....right? I wish I had any family much less call me on my birthday, or ever.

awwww, that is great..... We take the little things for granted I think, a telephone call is IMO better than a whack load of presents

I'm so happy he called, and I'm glad you chose to share this moment with us.... Knowing there are still thoughtful people out there, helps

I hope you had a great birthday.

Thanks everyone! I was really happy he had. I wasn't upset that he missed the day. We're not terribly close (I'm closer with my other brother), but it's nice that he thought to call.

It really IS the thought that counts.
