Animal Shelter shutting down

Dear Best Friends Network member organization,

Sandra in Corsicana has contacted the Network
seeking help with her efforts to save as many
animals as possible from her local
shelter. The Corsicana Animal Shelter, aka Navarro
County Humane Society, is closing down and any
animals not placed by Friday, June
13, will be put down.

There are approx. 150 dogs and 50 cats of all age
groups at this shelter.

organizations willing to help save any of these

How sad. What state is that in?

Oh my! That is so horrible. Do you know why they are having to shut down?

I have asked just not heard. I will post more when I learn more. This was just a short blurb sent to me in email with not a lot of details provided.

Gods, I wish it was closer to us, we would do what we could to help. I'd gladly foster a few kitties until homes could be found...

Oh no, maybe there's a way we can help! Do we have Cat Site members in Texas? How about the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary -- can they help save these animals? I know they are in Utah, but is there a way to get the animals from Texas to Utah?

Oh, no. Today is June 14th, and Im afraid to ask... I hope it all they found housing for all animals!
