I don't know about you, but sleep is my FAVE activity! I sleep 10-12hrs/ DAY! and I LOVE IT! I'd sleep more if my body would let me, lol. And I'm not depressed at all!

Over the river and through the woods...
What is too much sleep, or too little sleep? It all depends on the person. My husband can function on 4-5 hours of sleep a night (then he crashes for about 24 hours), but I need at least 6-8. Last night I slept for 7 hours and when I finally got out of bed I swear I could have slept for 3 more hours. I take that reasoning with a grain of salt. It depends on health, stess and many more factors.

Congrats on the job!!

I think it is supposed to be relative to your normal. If I usually sleep 6-8 hours a day, and all of the sudden I am sleeping 10-12 hours/day, then yes, I agree there is something wrong there. One of the signs I am depressed is definitely sleeping more than the usual... I just don't want to wake up.

I love sleep. Even as a newborn I slept 9 hrs straight before my mom forced me to wake up so I would eat LOL and then of course dozed off and on thru the day. I doubt I suffered from clinical depression as a baby.

I do power nap more when I have to time - like I'm on vaca but live without it when it isn't convenient. Heck, a whole continent has siesta time - they can't be wrong!

If someone is sleeping way way way too much - I would think they possibly have a sleep disorder and should get it checked out (I have three of them, so an organic reason to sleep often - but the idiot docs of course jump right to 'despression' b/c then they dont have to think).

I love sleep. I can wake up at like 11 eat something do a few chores then take a 3-4 hour nap. I don't think there is anything wrong with me I just really enjoy my sleep. Now when I'm wide awake and just don't want to do anything is when I know I'm feeling down.

I've always loved to sleep as well and certainly no depression here. I could easily sleep in until noon on weekends.

However, since I quit smoking I wake bright and rested every morning at 7 am. This is a whole new thing for me. I rather like it in that I have my laundry finished earlier and my cleaning done and still have plenty of the day left for me.
