& constantly is missing his collar? Is that sign that the cat has been the aggressor and picking fights?

As i understand when they have marks on their body or backside somene else attacked them but if its on their face they were the attackers?

ALso why do nutered cats still like to fight?

Claw marks are common during fights. The ones on the face mean that the cat did not back out of a fight, aggressor or not. Also, in bad cases of ear mites, the cat may injure his own face scratching the itchy ears.
Neutered cats will fight. The territorial instinct does not go away with the testicles, only the sexual one.

Hi,

personally I don't believe that you can tell who's winning by looking at the fight scars Maybe your cat just hasn't got the technique to keep his face safe or he is fighting so much that facial scratches just can't be avoided longterm. Just be extra carefull that he hasn't got any scratches in his eyes anf if in doubt go to a vets.

Why is your neutered tom fighting? Probably territory disputes, possibly because a new cat has arrived or because a young male is becoming stronger and is challenging the resident toms.

There are 2 reasons a cat fights....one reason is for breeding rights. The other reason is for territory. Neutering only removes one of those reasons . My mom's indoor/outdor cat is always coming in with his face scratched up. And he loses about one collar a month .
