Me and my Grandfather built a combo of an old fashioned orange crate car/soapbox derby car for fun. Took us a while but it was worth it. Only trouble is to move it you need to be pulled or push it, and it has no brake so it cant be raced with, but it does come with a working horn! It supports at least a 200 lb person so it's quite durable actually. Wish it had petals or a brake than I could race it downhill!

Over the river and through the woods...
A town nearby has a soapbox derby every 4th and I watch it every year. It's an American tradition around here (but you wouldn't catch me dead in one of those things!) They remind of of something I made one time for my dad out of pop sticks

It's great that you and you granddad got to do that together. Go ahead and race it downhill. Just have a few bales of hay spread out to buffer..the ummm...accident... and a video camera so we can watch it!
