Locket got his 2nd distemper and his rabies today. He was so good at the vet - I was really surprised, because he does have a bit more of a 'tude than my other kitties do. He seemed to be feeling fine this afternoon, but this evening he threw up his dry food, and since then he's been sleeping the night away. I just picked him up to cuddle him and he felt a bit warm, like he might have a bit of a fever. Poor guy.

Got good news at the vet though. I had planned to broach the subject of vaccination schedules at this visit, but before I even had an opportunity to ask the vet told me their clinic has now changed their recommendations to vaccines every three years after the one year boosters. Yay! I am happy that my vet agrees with what my research has been telling me.

poor Locket! I have had them get droopy after their vaccinations before, but never had them vomit. If he isn't up to par in the morning give a call to the vet just to make sure it isn't anything serious. Since he got his rabies vac as well he may have some kind of sensitivity that needs to be noted in his chart.

I have to say YEAH for your vet in adopting the 3 year schedule,
It is the best thing for our kitties.

Yes, the vomiting concerned me. He did keep his wet meal down tonight though, and his appetite doesn't seem decreased, so I am hoping he will be fine by morning. If not I will definitely call the vet. Good point about mentioning the reaction to vet - she specifically asked me if he'd reacted poorly to his first vaccinations before she gave him his shots today, so I will make sure to tell the clinic about this episode.
