Somehow, over our vacation, I lost my computer glasses.

These are a special prescription, weaker than standard glasses. I've used them for a couple of years, and really like them.

I planned to take them on vacation, so I could do computer work. I never got around to using them, so I don't know for sure if they ever got in the motorhome or suitcase or anything. Now I can't find them. Dottie and I have both searched the motorhome, our luggage, etc. No luck.

I've checked with the doctor, and it will cost me $135 to replace them. I really don't want to spend that, if I don't have to.

So, here's my question. Does anyone know how to make a computer glasses prescription from a regular prescription? I can order them online cheap, if I just know the right prescription. I have a current regular prescription, and I know the doctor could look at it and know what to make...but he's the one who wants $135! I think computer glasses are about 1/2 strength, but I'm not sure. Any help?

I just wrote an answer to your question and deleted it...I realized I totally misunderstood what you were asking.

I would check the online site for a customer service number. Maybe they would be able to tell you how your rx translates to computer glasses. If there is a Wal-Mart Vision Center near you, they are also a pretty inexpense option.

you should be able to get a copy of the prescription from the Dr. I know that I have one for my reg glasses and one for the computer glasses. I just have to get the glasses now... LOL

I have progressive lenses that have distance at the top, computer in the middle and reading on the bottom. I love them! It took awhile to get used to how to adjust your eyes (not your head, like older bi-tri-focals), but not too long. The hardest and weirdest part for me was the absence of clear periphial vison. You have to turn your head then. Hope you find yours...it must be very frustrating!
