First, it's kitten season. Over half our cages have multiple kittens in them, some with as many as 6 kittens. Very dangerous season for adult cats.
Then, we had a constant stream of people who lost their dogs or who found dogs over the holiday weekend. Noise, probably. The shelter had to tell one lady that her dog had been found by animal control, fatally injured. The other dog was still missing. One lady brought in two dogs that she found. There were some happy reunions.
