One of the surgeons that I work with told me I was obstreperous.
Of course, I had to look it up because I didn't have any idea what it meant.

One of my favorites:

impecunious

It means, "having little or no money."

im·pe·cu·nious
Pronunciation: im-pi-ˈkyü-nyəs, -nē-əs
Function: adjective

If you look it up in the dictionary, there will be a picture of my brother beside the word!

this is a random favorite of mine..I have a ton of favorite weird words that stick in my mind but can't think of any I might come back and edit in a few more when i get a chance...

quixotic - it cracks me up that they came up with an adjective after Don Quixote!! Pretty much means unrealistic and ridiculous.

omg I was just about to post this word!! I was going through my recently looked up words that are saved in my browser and this one was the most interesting one I could find
Another one was catamite but it's a bad one, it means the person under age who is having a relationship with a peadophile
I wonder why I had to look that up...I don't remember reading anything like that.

Oh wow, I would never have thought they'd have a word for that other than "victim". Ya learn something new everyday, huh? I have a dictionary bookmarked in my browser and am constantly looking things up, but of course I can't think of any interesting words I learned recently.
