Hi there,

My almost 12 week old kitten has a small lump in between her shoulder blades.

She and her brother had their 9 week vaccinations as scheduled, and we were warned that the jabs might cause this reaction. However, I've also recently noticed that she quite frequently sits holding her front paw off the floor. This doesn't seem to be causing her any discomfort, and she can walk and run around on it with no problems, but still prefers to sit with it held in the air. Her brother has nothing palpable in between his shoulder blades, so I wonder whether the two symptoms could be at all related.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

My brothers little dog had a reaction to his vaccination shot similar to this it took a day or two to ease off. Watch your little one and if it continues maybe you could call the Vet and ask them. Good luck.

Thanks for your replies.

I have spoken to my vet, but I'm new to the area and don't have much experience with the reliability of this new vet just yet, so I was hoping for some input from another source.

Anyone have any ideas what could be causing her to lift her paw up like that, lump or no lump?

The paw-lifting could just be her quirk. As long as it doesn't hurt her, it probably isn't something to worry about. I would be more worried about the lump if it doesn't go away fairly soon.
