Palin challenges Obama to a footrace

Am I the only one who thinks this is a little strange for a serious politician to be doing? Or is it her way of getting attention? But doesn't she look just darling in those pics in Runner's Wolrd.

I'd have to give her a pass on this. We wouldn't even know about this (unless we read Runner's World), if it wasn't for the media jumping on it. Just a fun little anecdote, I would think. It wasn't like she held a press conference making such a claim.

And yes, that chill you just felt, was indeed Hell freezing over.

The woman is desperate for any attention she can get. It kind of reminds me of the Bobby Riggs ploy to grab attention by claiming he could beat any woman tennis player in the world. Of course he lost, but would we have remembered his name had he not pulled that stunt?

LOL, I am so sure she craves attention. You know she twisted Letterman's arm and forced him to make all those child sex remarks about her teenage daughter.

And it was HER idea to have that woman photoshop her disabled baby's picture and put it out there.

And it was HER that told John Kerry to make the tasteless remark about,
"I wish Sarah Palin would have been the governor to disappear instead of Sanford"

Need I go on????

So Obama can be on the cover of Men's Health but Sarah Palin should just crawl back into that Alaskan hole she came out of?

C'mon, she's a runner, she's a working mother, and yes her name has clout. I'm pretty sure she didn't wink and nod to get into the magazine. I have a few issues of Runner's World and it's all about how the average, busy person can run and train for marathons, or just learn to run better for fun and health reasons. Sarah Palin is the ideal target audience for this magazine - busy people who love to run and find time for it.

And I don't find anything wrong with the way she is dressed as it is for running in a running magazine. Have you seen some photos in these magazines? Serious female competitors wear about as much as a bikini (though a sports bikini).

Give her a break. If Michelle Obama's mug can be plastered across a gajillion magazines for no reason other than she's first lady, give Sarah a pass for being on a magazine with something she's passionate about.

We weren't criticizing her for appearing in the magazine. We were laughing at the fact that she has challenged Obama to a race.

My point seems to have gotten lost. This is not about David letterman nor disabled babies.

I have no problem with her featured in Runners World or how she is dressed.

It is about her boasting that because she feels she has endurance, that she could beat Obama in a footrace. Am I the only one who finds this over the top?

Secondly, I don't read Runner's World but I do sometimes read Fitness. Palin is absolutely in good shape, but I do find that her poses don't look like what I normally see in Fitness. She looks more like she is doing the swimsuit competition. Maybe that's just what she naturally does.

Well, I guess then you can say Palin asking Obama to race is like the Special Olympics bowling champ asking Obama to compete against him. Just something that is said because it seems like a funny offhanded comment.

I read the article, they ask her if she could beat Obama at basketball and she said that one on one no, but maybe HORSE. So I don't think she believes she is completely better than him.

And who knows, maybe she could beat him in a foot race. Maybe he is a good sprinter but terrible at endurance runs.

I'll admit to getting annoyed with two different commercials and not watching the actual report, but I can't imagine she was actually serious about this. It was a joke right?

No, I do not find it over the top. What I find over the top is Barack quadrupling our deficit in less than 6 months.
