Hi there. My name is Brittany, and I am an animal lover. A few days ago, it was brought to my attention that my neighbor had bought a Bengal kitten from a breeder When I went to see the kitten, I was immediately told that it was going to the shelter the next day. The little guy had HORRIBLE diarrhea, and was leaking all over their house. I learned that this had been going on for over two weeks, with Marble constantly dehydrated and unable to control his bowels. I took the kitten, not wanting it to be put down in a shelter. He wanted to play with my cat, but had to be separated in case what he had was contagious. Marble is such a sweet and playful little guy, and gorgeous to boot... but he is also thin, unhealthy, and constantly cries because of what we think is severe stomach pain.
I volunteer at a no-kill cat shelter. One of our foster parents offered to take the kitten on, and tonight he is getting the love and care he needs. We do not yet know if he has FIV/leukemia or something else, because the breeder never took him to a vet. She also never registered him, because she claimed that the father had been stolen. However, without testing him for anything, and without providing any medical care, she sold him for $850 to my nice but ignorant neighbors. She has also LIED to them outright several times, keeps her cats in the garage with several other animals, and has an infestation of insects in the animals' sleeping quarters (according to my neighbors- however, I am going to see if I can verify this myself). Also, I learned that my neighbors originally bought ANOTHER cat, but that it had the same exact problem, so they returned it and got Marble.
I am going to investigate further, but if you guys know of anything legal me or my neighbor can do, please tell me. I will post an update of this animal's condition as soon as I hear from the foster's vet.

Just read this post. Has there been any update on the poor kitty or the environment she came from?
