Hi! Just got two new cats... first time owner! I've had them for a month, and it seems one is eating too much because she's gaining weight, but the other one is always begging me for food.

I'm feeding them both wet and dry food. I was just putting some dry food in a container and letting them eat as they want for a few days, but reading the forums makes me think I should be putting out a specific amount each day?

How would I go about keeping one cat from gaining any more weight, while still letting the other one eat?

thanks!

Hi...

Your cats' eating habits sound like mine. In my house, we find it works best to separate them at dinner time. We feed one in the kitchen, and one in the back entrance. There is a door that the one in the back entrance can push open when she is done.

My 2 cats only get a little dry food in the morning & a little in the afternoon. We keep water out at all times.

Good luck...and congratulations on your new cats!
