But does anyone know of ANYone in the NC area who will do 3 free fixes? I have 2 males who aren't fixed and a pregnant female (post below) (oh, no my males are not the daddy's!) but we are flat broke. I am not just claiming poor, I mean we are on food stamps in the process of foreclosure poor. Enough about that. Does anyone know of a "charity vet"? The pregnant one that I took in seems to be in good health, but I don't know if she has had shots or not. I know the boys haven't. I want to keep my babies, but that may not even be an option since we will probably wind up having to rent. (Very few landlords will take someone with 5 cats!) I want to do the responsible thing and have them fixed, so any ideas are great ideas!

Oh my goodness. Bless your
I'm not familiar with that area, but hopefully someone will post some resources for you soon. You might try poking around the SOS board.

ETA:

They do low-cost spay/netuer here. You could try calling them and asking if there is additional assistance available for low-income persons. I know in my area, the low cost spay/neuter clinic gave me some phone numbers for organizations that could offer me additional support. It wouldn't hurt to call and ask. If they're outside your area, they might know of someone in your area who could help.

I'm not in Catawba County, I just did a search for something in NC. If I were you, I would just call and ask them if they have any type of assistance or know of anyone who might be able to help you.

The spay/nueter isn't a HUGE deal financially, although it certainly counts. But with them not having shots, and one not knowing if she had shots I am looking at over $300 for this. Thank you for all the links! I will research them all carefully this evening to see who might help!

I got a call this morning with some great news, the cats are getting fixed for free. Something about a new grant being handed down for people in foreclosure. I don't care why exactly, I am just THRILLED! Going up next week to do paperwork.
