Hi. I am a female Japanese student who has taken care of a female calico stray kitten for a short time lately.

I noticed that she had missed her mother cat.
I don't know how to cheer her up..because it seems to me that she was very disappointed to find that her mother cat had left her alone.
Please tell me the best way to make her happy.

On the picture she seems to be outside and homeless??

Such a little one do NOT have good chances being abandoned by mom. Even if you help with food.
So Im not surprised she is crying and hoping mom will come back after all...

The only real chance is if you take her home. Or talk over some friend or relative to take her home as own homecat.

She is young, it shouldnt be too difficult to foster her into a domestic home cat.

Good luck!

I agree, is there no way you can take her in? Even if not for keeps until you can find an indoor home for her? You will need to get her to the vet for shots, tests to make sure she is healthy, and to set up an appointment to get her spayed, you certainly do not want to leave her outside intact, more kittens, more problems. It is also better for her health.
I hope you or someone can take this little one in!
for you and the little girl.

If you can take her into your home, feed her and get her checked out at the Vet that would be best. I can't see the pic and how old she is cause the mods have chosen to remove the link.

If you can't keep her 'cause your family or housing won't allow it there is an organization in Japan that is trying to help with the stray population. Maybe they can help you place the cat in a home. They have pages in nihongo if that is helpful. I don't know if they are in Saitama. they seem to be most active in the Kansai area.

Here's their blog:

Thanks for taking care of the cat!
