(First of all I want to apologise for making these stupid questions all the time, so bear with me..
)

I'm looking for a kitten for breeding purposes and seems like my breed and color choise is almost impossible to find. I've been searching for almost a year. Luckily I finally managed to find what I'm looking for, almost.. The kitten is located in Germany, and she's going to be registered as a British Longhair in the breeder's association. Her dam is BSH with only BSHs in her pedigree and her sire is registered as a British Longhair. So far so good, but when I checked the sire's pedigree I saw that his father is a Selkirk Rex! In some european associations they register Selkirks with straight hair as Brits.. For them it's totally normal so this didn't come up earlier.

Now to the question(s) :
What would this kitten be registered as in TICA? Would there be any chance I could breed Brits with her in TICA? I know that outcrosses outside the breed group are not allowed, but the other rules were so confusing (and loopholeish, which isn't even a real word
) that I can't get any sense out of them.

I just hate it when this kind of things happen. I had my hopes up and everything and now it seems I'm back to square one.

I sent an email to TICA's registration address yesterday and also for the Finnish TICA club, but I haven't got any answers yet. I need to let the breeder know my decision pretty soon (I'm not the only one interested in this kitten), so this is kinda urgent..

So what was the verdict? I was gonna say probably not as a Selkirk is NOT a legit outcross in the British SH/LH breed (Brits are allowed in Selkirk, but not the other way around).

I thought so too, but this is what they replied:
"You will be able to register the offspring from these BL/BS with Selkirk Rex in the background, however, as the British LH/SH are a category II breed group, the kittens will not be showable until they have 3 full generations of British LH/SH in their background."
