I told her to do what I did with Cleo.
I was stuck between a Cleo and another kitten.
Most the people here said to get Cleo.
She asked me what kitten I like best since I will show it but it is hard to pick.
All 3 kittens are nice. One thing to keep in mind, is that June Bug , the SLP will have blue eyes as an adult. Lighting Bug the Seal Mink will have green eyes. Neela will have green or gold eyes.

Don't think you can go wrong with any of them, but I'd be leaning towards Neela just a bit, because the browns show better, but that SLP is nice and has good contrast already which can be harder to achieve in that color.

Will 2nd Nial's opinion about the colors. The darker ones tend to pick up far more finals in the rings. I know someone that shows a Bengal like June Bug (seal lynx?) and he really does not do very well with the judges - type is good, but given the choice of the browns verus the pale colors - the judges tend to pick the flashy ones first.

My first choice would be Neela, 2nd choice would be Lightning Bug.

Maybe I just have a suspicious nature. (don't comment on that )

Back to the original topic. How is the search for the perfect bengal kitty going?
I know you didn't!

WOW Neela is my fave! what a little honey.

My sister is at work today but I will tell her what everyone said.
Two of the kittens are under evaluation.
Are Benglas easy to get ready for shows?
They have to be easier to get ready then sphynx.
Well in comparison to longhair cats, almost all shorthair cats are pretty easy to get ready for a show. General care - ears clean, nails clipped, washed, towel - then air dry, a quick combing to get any loose fur..........and off to the show.

Trim claws, make sure ears are clean, place in carrier, drive to showhall, take cat to rings. Pretty simple.

Bengals do not need a bath prior to showing unless they have gotten into something.

I have found it makes absolutely no difference in their coat quality. You can in fact make their coats look worse if you use a shampoo that won't rinse completely out. Any soap left on the coat will make it look dull.

The best thing to use is a chamois and just wipe them down with it before each ring to remove any loose hairs, etc.

OMG. Look at Neela's cute little face in that pic. She's a total cutie.

Thanks Nial.
My sister has another question.
She wants to now if you like Neela or Mena is better.
It will be easy to show.
She has not had time to call the breeder yet because she is working overtime and it is 6:30 our time when she gets off work.
It would be would to call at 9:30 at night their time.
She did email the breeder today and did read the posts here.

I know you asked Nial about Neela/Mena, but if its ok, I'll give my opinion too

Still would pick Neela. With Mena you cannot see her spotted pattern (need a clear side view picture) so you can't tell about the rib bars, etc.

I think Neela is show quality and a better choice (unless you can get more pictures of Mena to compare.

Thanks for the advice.
The breeder understands my sister is busy.
She will talk to my sister sometime this week.
She said there are some other kittens also.

The breeder said she thinks Love Bug would be good show quality.
What do you think?
Do the judges prefer snow or browns?
Most of the Bengals I see in ACFA shows are browns. The few snows I've seen really don't beat the browns very often. They have to be excellant top quality show ones to beat out the browns.

In the alter classes, there is a brown and snow (both nice quality) and most of the time the brown will take best of breed over the snow.

Thanks for your advice.
The kitten will be shown in TICA only since we not have any ACFA shows out here.
I will wait for Nial to answer about TICA.

Hard to say, because Mena doesn't have a side shot picture, so it's difficult to make a choice. I'm sure Marie would send you comparison photos if you narrowed down to those two choices.

Hey everyone,

I finally find some time to post. I do like the brown bengals, but my love for siamese cats is drawing me more to the snow bengal. I have been communicating with Marie and she said to go for whatever I have a preference for. I know my sister has given you a lot of the info for me while I have been busy. Like my sister said, Marie had said that "Love bug" might be one I should consider. I still really love "June bug" and "Lightening bug". I am not sure which ones are available and which ones she is going to keep for sure. The little mink girl says available, but in her email she said that she hasn't made up her mind yet. I think I will give her a call today. Wish I could get more because they are so cute, but my bf is kinda blah with the 2 cats I have already. :P

Well, I left her a message. I also wrote her an email with better pictures of "Love bug" and any other kitten she thinks would be good show quality. Here is a picture of one of her snow marbles she sold as a show cat. He received 7 finals.

The breeder has been sick but she is going to send my sister kitten pictures this week.
There is a good chance I will be showing the kitten at the October TICA show.

My sister did not get any pictures yet because the breeder has been busy and she hurt her hip.
There will be pictures soon.
