*facepalm* Is it really Neil and not Nial as in Nile River? I always say Nial in my head.
I thought it was such a cool name, different, you know? Now I have this feeling that when I eventually get a Bengal cat, I am going to be tempted to name him Nial as in Nile as a tribute to my mispronunciation... And because it's cute.

Hey, I didn't mean to start anything here, I really was trying to help. If someone came to me saying "X" sent me, but they didn't know how to spell or pronounce "X's" name, my first impulse would be to wonder if it was a real referral. Maybe I just have a suspicious nature. (don't comment on that
)

Back to the original topic. How is the search for the perfect bengal kitty going?

Thanks

I like the darker colour of the seal mink Lightening Bug but I've never seen that colour in person. There's a seal lynx point neuter that is shown here.

But my favourites are the silvers or browns so I like little Neela

Good luck to your sister making the decision.

I told her to do what I did with Cleo.
I was stuck between a Cleo and another kitten.
Most the people here said to get Cleo.
She asked me what kitten I like best since I will show it but it is hard to pick.

All 3 kittens are nice. One thing to keep in mind, is that June Bug , the SLP will have blue eyes as an adult. Lighting Bug the Seal Mink will have green eyes. Neela will have green or gold eyes.

Don't think you can go wrong with any of them, but I'd be leaning towards Neela just a bit, because the browns show better, but that SLP is nice and has good contrast already which can be harder to achieve in that color.

Will 2nd Nial's opinion about the colors. The darker ones tend to pick up far more finals in the rings. I know someone that shows a Bengal like June Bug (seal lynx?) and he really does not do very well with the judges - type is good, but given the choice of the browns verus the pale colors - the judges tend to pick the flashy ones first.

My first choice would be Neela, 2nd choice would be Lightning Bug.

My sister is at work today but I will tell her what everyone said.
Two of the kittens are under evaluation.
Are Benglas easy to get ready for shows?
They have to be easier to get ready then sphynx.

Well in comparison to longhair cats, almost all shorthair cats are pretty easy to get ready for a show. General care - ears clean, nails clipped, washed, towel - then air dry, a quick combing to get any loose fur..........and off to the show.

Trim claws, make sure ears are clean, place in carrier, drive to showhall, take cat to rings. Pretty simple.

Bengals do not need a bath prior to showing unless they have gotten into something.

I have found it makes absolutely no difference in their coat quality. You can in fact make their coats look worse if you use a shampoo that won't rinse completely out. Any soap left on the coat will make it look dull.

The best thing to use is a chamois and just wipe them down with it before each ring to remove any loose hairs, etc.

Thanks Nial.
My sister has another question.
She wants to now if you like Neela or Mena is better.
It will be easy to show.
She has not had time to call the breeder yet because she is working overtime and it is 6:30 our time when she gets off work.
It would be would to call at 9:30 at night their time.
She did email the breeder today and did read the posts here.

I know you asked Nial about Neela/Mena, but if its ok, I'll give my opinion too

Still would pick Neela. With Mena you cannot see her spotted pattern (need a clear side view picture) so you can't tell about the rib bars, etc.

I think Neela is show quality and a better choice (unless you can get more pictures of Mena to compare.
