Users of Natural Balance Duck and Green Pea Dry- need an ingredient amount please

Hi! I am on a seemingly perpetual search for a dry, fish (any and everything fish) free, UTI friendly cat food. It's starting to look like price doesn't matter either *sigh*. I have found that California Natural and Kirkland Signature both have Magnesium levels of .10, same as the Felidae I was feeding.

All that to ask (), could someone give me the magnesium content of the Natural Balance Duck and Green Free Dry food, or any other NB fish free dry food you are using? Thanks in advance!

If it were me, I would call Natural Balance and ask them your question.
They would have the most accurate info.
When you find out, would you post it here so other can know too.
Good luck with your sweetie's diet.

Thanks- I have emailed them, but no answer as of yet. I was hoping maybe someone could put up a pic of the label :P . I'm getting desperate for a new food! Dang Nutro, why'd they have to go and add fish oil?

I just checked the package, but it doesn't list magnesium content. Sorry! Wish I could be more helpful.

If you could, please still post the response you get from Natural Balance. I'd be interested in what it is. I seem to think I looked it up when switching my own cat, but cannot remember now. I have a cat who had crystals on CORE. I switched to NB Duck & Green Pea and he's been fine *knock wood* ever since.

I feed the canned (venison or duck) and just looked at the label on it - no magnesium count on the canned food.

Thanks so much for responding! I found 2 websites that said it was .10, so that would be the same as all the others I've looked at . I am waiting on the company email to give me the official word, but I may just have to try Felidae again, now that she's on the Cosamin DS, and see how it goes. I'll let you know what they say (if they say it ).

Because of the internet, animal caregivers are more aware of the nutritional needs of their charges.
We must insist that pet food companies print detailed content info. on their food labels.

How do we do that...
I wish I knew.

I got my response, and it's a bit above the recommended .085 ideal Sharky told me a while back. Oh well...

"Hello,

Please know that the Green Pea & Duck Dry Formula has an average magnesium of .14%. Have a great day!

HMMMM I wonder if the canned flavor is the same and should I use it with Charlie's UTI situation....Sharky? Should I stop getting the Duck/Pea canned foods for him (they don't get it very often - mainly the Venison one).

IMHO I would not use that for a UTI prone cat ... IMHO it is bordering to high for most cats

Ok - no more duck ones then.

Yeah, that makes the Felidae with the .10 look pretty good...guess it's back to Felidae Chicken and Rice *crosses fingers*.

The duck cans only have 0.025% magnesium in them.
