The media is so disgusting most of the time. There is absolutely no reason for them to even say anything like that.

This brings up the tricky questions we have about him. This is going to be the way it is. It is a big mess.

I agree with Cindy, that's a subject we really don't need here, because this isn't an IMO topic. It's about showing some respect

Of course that is not what I think of when I remember him- I think of his contributions and the great music. But we will never know the truth and that's the only fact that we have.
Agreed, but this thread is not the place for it. IMO would be a better spot if someone wants to start a thread about him and the controversy that surrounded him.

And even then i think it would be bad taste being as he's just died, but if a thread does get started it's one i wouldn't participate in.

I agree Rosiemac, I can't even listen to the vultures of the media anymore, they make me sick to my stomach. The vultures are circling Michael Jackson in death just like they did to him in life. I can't even imagine how it must hurt his children and family if they are hearing any of it. I hope they aren't

All the joy Michael Jackson gave the world and to be treated the way he was and still is being treated makes me sick.

I feel the same way Cindy. I removed and blocked a friend on my Facbook page because of what she said about him on friday. She rang and appologised but the damage was already done.

I've just been looking at his family pictures on the TMZ link and they all looked happy

What is the difference between people talking about Jackson's rather bizarre lifestyle and legal problems, and maligning his child accusers and personal physician? Does he get a "free ride" because he was an extraordinary entertainer who is now dead, while the "nobodies" can be accused of making up stories for financial gain, killing him with prescription drugs, etc.?

This is a time for people to show respect and mourning for a person who had a tremendous talent, that changed the face of music, who has died. I have no respect for gossip-mongers, "nobodies" (vultures) that come out of the woodwork all of a sudden with negative stories and maligning comments. Unless we lived in a cave for the past 4+ decades, we are all aware of the stories, innuendo, fact and fiction of MJ's tortured life. Do we need to bring it up over and over again, run him down, malign him more? Wouldn't it be nice if we could recognize him for his genius and let his immediate family be the only ones that know the results of the autopsy for their peace of mind? Do we, the public, need to know all the details of what medications he was taking, who administered them, when they gave them, ad nauseum? He had very little peace in life, couldn't we allow him and his family to have peace in his death?

I agree. Theres a handful of people posting nasty things on his youtube clips along with people saying their fed up hearing about it, well theres an easy remedy for it, don't look or listen, switch over!. But the thing is they can't help themselves do anything but.

I'm done with this thread. I've said all I have to say. RIP Michael.

I know a lot of people who are fed up with hearing about it, and honestly I kind of see where they are coming from. All the news about the economy, the wars, the Iran conflict, all the serious stuff are pushed aside. It's not about just switching off, it's about not being able to find anything else besides the Michael Jackson death investigation. And that annoys me, because the only reason they do this is because people are so nosy and want to know every detail of how and why he died!! They can't just freaking wait for the family to release details whenever they feel ready..
I'm having a hard time with all of this honestly. As I said before, I have never considered myself a fan, but I never had a problem with him, and I know he has done many good things. He helped sick children, he helped the world. He was an amazing artist and dancer. I can't stop thinking about him, and wondering if the poor guy was ever really happy, with the nasty things people always say about him. And the things some people are STILL saying, just disrespectful. My bf's mom told me something some guy said on a t.v. And it really annys me! There is no reason for any of it, I was disgusted.
I watched some clips on youtube of his dancing and especially Thriller. This man was very talented! He would have worked very hard most of his life and kudos to him.

I hope that he is at peace now. I know the rumours and the jokes are now abundant, but it doesn't change who he originally was when he was younger. That is what I am remembering.

Rest in Peace, Michael.

I'm glad his children won't be uprooted any time soon.

I'm looking through some of his pics...He used to be soo attractive before he got all that plastic surgery. Even when he just had 1 nose job- he looks really nice. I think he also had his chin and cheeks done because that baby face is no longer there when he smiles in recent pics. I really think he had to have had body dysmorphic disorder where he can't accept his body the way it is ...it's so sad probably because of his father being a jerk to him all the time.

RIP Michael. I loved your music.

I think this is appropriate just now, "You are not alone"

I had a difference of an opinion with my cousin. It got worst when her 14 y.o. was quoted a sick joke. She ended up removing me, my mother(her aunt) and my husband. Now the other two had nothing to do with my comment and weren't online. I removed her husband too cause he posts just to start stuff. Finally the jokes have stopped from what I can see on my FB feeds.

I watched that documentary "Living With Michael Jackson" this weekend and he was talking about how, as an adolescent, his mean father, would make fun of his looks and his nose constantly.

He recounted a story about a woman coming up to them after a show, Michael was a teenager at the time, the woman said, "Where's Michael, where's little Michael" and someone pointed to Michael and the woman said, "Eww, what happened to you".

I think Michael Jackson was a very sensitive person and remarks like that and his father's constant telling him he was ugly just really did a job on him and that was the root cause of him wanting to totally change his face.

I still can't let this go, I don't know why.

Oh that is so sad!

I see a few posts where people are ending friendships over Michael's death.

As much as I admired and loved him, and I still can't wrap my head around the fact that he's gone, I do have to say that ending a friendship with someone because they hold a different opinion over his death is extreme.

I can understand feeling hurt and angry when someone disses someone that we cared about, especially if that person has died, because it's insensitive and cruel and very disrespectful for the loss of a human life. But you shouldn't be ending friendships because of it.

Wow everything around him has become so crazy...Now the kids aren't even his!! Well...he raised them and his mother should still get them. But it just raises so many qusetions that I'm just dying to know...I know I should respect his privacy, he was making a living off of music and entertainment, not his life story..but I just really want to know about what he was really like.

Ugh! This story gets more strange by the second!

http://www.etonline.com/news/2009/06/75922/

Apparently paternity tests reveal that the father is the dermatologist.
I have a feeling this is going to go on for years. Big court battle for the kids, unraveling the huge financial mess, everyone fighting over his $ and property, family feuds, everyone who knew him for 10 minutes writing a book, tribute concerts and on and on... His father makes an announcement that he started a record label while he's supposed to be talking about Michael? !?! Its sad this is becoming a circus. Those poor kids!!! I hope someone (preferably non-family) steps up big time to clean up this financial mess for them and positions things right so those kids can make a fortune from the future music sales, etc.

Strange, isn't it. I'm surprised at the type of people that are obsessively fixated on it (in my personal life, not on the board); I wouldn't have expected it from them.

I wonder if MJ has become sort of a touchstone for tolerance; someone so rekowned, with such deviation from the "norm", that has the capacity to polarize society and potentially serves to inevitably have them butt heads with one another. Like what happens, say, with different religious or ethnic groups.

I can't believe that people believe this drivel. There is, absolutely, no proof of any of that and people suck it up because the media says so.

Michael Jackson's name as father is on all three birth certificates, Debbie Rowe is on the birth certificate on Prince and Paris.

Show me proof there has even been paternity tests, show me proof of any sort. You can't. The media is spewing lies, rumors and just crap that is not substantiated in any way and people take it as truth.

What is wrong with people? Those poor children, think how they must feel if they turn on any channel of the TV.

Michael Jackson's death has totally turned me against the media, all of the media, Fox, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, all of it. They have no credibility at all
