Keep up the great work.

Are you getting any sleep with all the feedings?
Sleep is actually not too bad. He has a final feeding at 10:00 or 10:30 at night and sleeps until 4 or 5 the next morning. Last night he ate almost
10cc's right before bed and didn't wake until 5:30 this morning.

Jax is doing great. His weight this morning was 8 ounces. He's put on 1 ounce since my husband brought him home a week ago tomorrow.

He should have both eyes completely open tomorrow. One eye is just taking a while to open.

Thanks for asking.

It sounds like Jax is a little piggie.

I am keeping you both in my thoughts Eva.

Jax is doing super. He is 3 weeks old, weighs 15 ounces. Almost 1 pound!

I thought I would post some of the things he is doing at three weeks. It might help anyone searching for help.

1. he eats 15 cc or 1 tablespoon every three hours. This amounts to 4
ounces a day roughly.

2. Jax can eliminate (urinate) on his own but for the rest of the week I will
still encourage him to go before and after each feeding. Until I feel
that he is eliminating on his own regularly.

3. He doesn't poo every day, more like every other day. It's a mustard
color and the consistency of toothpaste. He is no longer constipated
and I haven't added Karo syrup to his bottles in the last 4 days.

4. I found baby teeth this morning. He loves to chew on my fingers and I
can feel baby teeth on the top and bottom.

5. Jax is playing with his beanie babies as well. He will bite and rabbit kick
the stuffed animals.

Wow, that's great that he's doing so well!

I loved the gummy chewing on the fingers, it's a shame you have teeth now

I just got caught up on this thread - how is little (big?) Jax doing? His weight sounds pretty good to me. My eight kittens weighed between 5 and 9 ounces at 3 weeks. At 6 weeks, the smallest was still only 11 ounces, so you are doing great!

Ok, I need some help/advise. First let me say Jax is doing fabulous. Growing like a weed. I added a litter pan to his box this week and after the first few days he has taken to it like a champ.

He has just now turned 5 weeks old, weighs more than my kitchen scales will hold. So he is over a pound. Wow! from just under 7 ounces to a pound. Woo Hoo!

Now for the advise. I can not get him to accept anything other than the bottle. He will fight me at every feeding when I offer the wet or dry kitten food. ( all of this is then introduced in a shallow bowl)

I've mixed it with his milk, I've dipped the nipple in the wet trying to get him to take it and nothing seems to work. I've even crushed the dry food and mixed it with the milk.

One thing I haven't tried is putting the wet in his bottle with the milk and giving it to him that way. Has anyone done this?

I couldn't get my bottle babies to take the solids either and I ended up starting with the bottle. I mixed wet food (pate style) with the formula until it was really runny and then cut the tip of the nipple off so it would flow through. It took a full day for them and then they were licking it off my fingers. By day 2 they were eating it out of the bowl

Good luck, I hope it works for you!

Thank you thank you!!! I didn't know if by adding wet to the bottle I was just encouraging the bottle.
