well..hecla island in manitoba...
these were taken on 2 different nights..although saturday night I was just covered in mosquitos while trying to get these...
saturday first







sunday - the sun had already set..but I still set the tripod up and went for some shots

Those make me miss living in Michigan. I lived in the UP, St Ignace to be exact.
I love the colors in the second picture.

Maybe look into trying out those OFF clip ons to help keep the mosquitoes away?

actually someone had told me about bounce sheets..are supposed to work too..so maybe I will try that? and I think I pretty much showered in off...
sighs..it was not much help..maybe the little suckers are starting to like the scent?

^Probably. They're pretty ferocious up north. You could go out in a bioharzard suit and they'd still get you...

I've never heard about drier sheets doing anything.
I've had bounce brand used on my clothes before and don't ever recall that affecting the number of biting insects landing on my clothes...
I hope you can find a solution so you can keep going out and getting nice pictures.

Another member mentioned she had family members that used a type (or repeller?) that clipped on and emitted a sound that kept mosquitoes away - and that those did seem to work for them.
