Good for you Jacky, that everything goes well. I'm glad you are having the surgery so soon, it will help your pain.

Thanks,
I just hope I do not get that pain before Monday.
I hate the pain meds the Dr gave me.

Hi Jacky - for you my friend.... You are such an amazing kitty mommy, thinking of Coco more than your own... She is very lucky to have you!
How's she doing, anyways? are her numbers better?
How long do you need to sty in the hospital? Are you going under general anesthesia, or it's local?

So soon, already! Good luck!
I hope they can find some pain medication that works well for you. You'll probably want something that first day.

It's under general. I'm hoping that we hear back from her the same day that all went well!

Thanks Everyone,
It is at the new Kaiser here in Modesto.
It is General.
The hospital stay can be between 1-4 days or I can go home the same day.
The plan is for it to be a lapo but things can go wrong.
Coco is the same right now.
I always put my cats first before me.

My daughter felt a lot better after hers.
Just remember, even if you feel fine, follow the doctors instructons regarding lifting and activity afterwards, she and an elderly man I know both felt so good that they went back to normal too soon and wound up with incision site hernias that needed repair later.

Thanks
The surgeon said it will be 4 holes if there are no complications.
I have been told not to lift anything for 3 weeks.

I was scratching my head earlier - I had 4 holes.. and have 4 scars.
I was told only two weeks, and that's as long as I was given leave from work.

Don't be too worried if you see new bruises show up 3-4 after the surgery. Hopefully you won't be glued to your gown like I was!

Showed up early, waited in admissions until the person had a free moment. Filled in all information needed, signed everything that needed to be signed, got my bracelet with my info on it. (same procedure as for any other time you're admitted to the hospital)
Went to my room, was given a hospital gown, my IV was put in after I changed, and I was given a cup to pee in so they could go test my urine.
The cup was for them to be certain I wasn't pregnant
Since I was pretty much dehydrated from not being allowed anything to drink since the night before, they had to wait and threatened to cath me. During the wait an RN in also came in to take down any extra medical info such as drug sensitivities.

After that, I was wheeled down to the OR waiting area, there I was started on IV fluids (I hope your's are warmer than mine were!).
Waited a while for everyone to get there and together and for them to check my urine.
Wheeled into the OR, put on the table, they started the general. I wasn't ask to count backwards and was actually out very quickly.

I woke up as they were wheeling me down the hall back to my room... and hitting every bump along the way!
