I don't think she's so forgiving now though, not in the sound bites I've seen recently. I think she has a very healthy f-him attitude at the moment, from what I've seen. I'm sure she's heartbroken in private but you go, girl.

I'm willing to bet that his definition of "is" is the same as Slick Willy's, and so is his definition of "sexual relations".

Oh yes, and he said today that his mistress is his soulmate, but he's going to try to "fall back in love" with his wife. THAT is anything but trying to reconcile! He would definitely be kicked to the curb if I were his wife.

But really, besides being an idiot who can't keep it in his pants (like many politicians, it seems), it is the being AWOL with no way to contact him for 5 days that is the real political crime here. That seems to be overlooked because of the affair. As a few people have stated, if anyone with any level of job just took off with no prior notice and no way to contact them for 5 days, they would lose that job. No amount of sobbing or rambling confessions would save it.

But here's the thing:

I am a Republican. I have never had an affair. I try to uphold family values. But why start this thread off blasting the Republicans for their so-called "family values"?

I agree the Republicans are acting like total idiots these days. And Sanford isn't helping. I'd like to see the party stop their griping and come up with solutions of their own.

And why, oh why do we look back on JFK and FDR (Democrats, I believe), two known adulterers, as if they walked on water?
