I think Abbysinians (sp?) are gorgeous and are supposed to be one of the most friendly and loyal cats.

I also think Bengals are beautiful.. I love the markings.

I love Russian Blue's for their velvet soft coats and striking green eyes.

A good old fasioned short haired Tabby always makes me smile too

My very favorite is the plain ordinary (if there is such a thing as an "ordinary" cat) black domestic shorthair. I wanted a black cat since I was a little girl, but my mom was superstitious and wouldn't agree, and got me a Siamese instead. Exactly one week after I moved out of my mom's house, I adopted Midnight from the Humane Society, he is now 11 yrs old and is my bestest friend in the whole world

I've also always loved the way torties look.

Of the purebreeds, I love Abyssinians, Ragdolls, Russian Blues and Pixie Bobs. My Sasha is a Ragdoll, Coal is a Russian Blue, both came to me from the SPCA. I would dearly love to be owned by an Aby someday!

Still trying to figure out if Zoey has Russian Blue in her
(I'm convinced she does.. she has a lot of the traits)

WOW all of those kitties are great also.. Heh I have never seen that many "purebreds" My mom "captured" my one kitty Princey Of April 2002 and I presume her birthdays 2/12 and I adopted my one other kitty on my birthday from a shelter so I have never had a purebred so I wouldnt know one from another ( Affection wise).. But I love seeing how purebreds are, they are gorgeous..But no offense to people with sphinxs but I like cats with fur.. Sphinxs look Naked LOL!!!!

Sometimes I wish I had a purebred cat.. but other times I just feel grateful and lucky to have rescued a cat from a shelter that really needed a home

Yup, I agree 100%. All of my cats are rescues. Midnight, Coal, Lilith, Sasha and Romeo came from the SPCA. Lil was pregnant when we adopted her, although no one knew at the time! Her kittens are Jules, Blondie, Polly, Silver, Pan and Max. Sunshine was a stray kitten who ran in front of my car and into my heart. And Tillie was a rescue from an SOS here on the Cat Site!

There are a lot of purebreed cats in shelters and rescues, just check out www.petfinder.com and you will see thousands of them. It is possible to get a purebreed and rescue a shelter cat at the same time!

Awesome. Yes I checked out petfinder.com when I was looking for a cat but I didnt see any purebreds in my area. I wasnt actually really looking for one though.

So when can I see Coal? :p You said she was a Russian Blue.. did you also find her at a shelter?

LOL !! Thank you
And Zoey says thank you too
Trust me she is a comedian all right. She chats with me all the time.. we chirp back and forth to each other and then eventually she will run up to me and swat my head with her paw then quickly run away LMAO.

When I go to prepare a bowl of cearal (my midnight snack) she runs after me to the computer chair and sits in front of the monitor to watch me eat it!! FREAK!! She tries to paw at my spoon
I think she wants some.

She's got a lot of strange quirks.. such a ham she is.

I haven't uploaded my photo files from my old computer yet, but I will see if I can get one on here tomorrow for you. BTW, Coal is a boy
He's 12, weighs about 18 lbs. and a grumpy old man sometimes. Yes, I got him at the local SPCA. His owner had died and no one wanted him, so he was brought to the shelter. He saw my boyfriend and reached a paw out of the cage, pleading with eyes and meows for us to take him home. He sleeps in between us every night.

Sorry.. HE!
Wow he's a big boy! What a sweet story. Reminds me of when I went to go get Zoey. She reached her paw out too, let out a little mew and proceeded to play with my hair through the cage
Funny how they choose you, you dont choose them.
