Two weeks ago I made plans to go out to dinner with a girl I have known since nursing school. We haven't seen each other for a number of years because she moved away after a couple years and has been moving from place to place ever since. She's now living back in Winnipeg and we decided to get together this evening.

She called me around 1pm to make sure we were still on for tonight. I told her we were. She said she would pick me up at 7pm.

It's now 7:35pm and not a word from her. And I can't phone her because I can't remember where I wrote down her cell phone number!!!

If she isn't here by 8pm and hasn't called, I'm going to jump in the shower and wash out all of this goop that I put in my hair and on my face and order in Chinese Food!

I swear, some people can be so inconsiderate!!!

She finally called! She said she got busy with her parents and that her cell phone had died while she was walking around in the mall. Anyway, she's on her way. I'm starving!

Yeah, I feel you! If I'm having a get-together, I figure out what time I want people there by and then back it up an hour. If I want them there at 6, I'll say it starts at 5.

It's one of my pet peeves, also. Unfortunately one of the worst offenders that I know is my daughter. I always tell her she's only been early one time in her life....the day she was born, she was a month early!

Lol, this is actually one of the reasons why I rarely go out with friends anymore unless it's a random spur of the moment decision - people are so unreliable, so inconsiderate and annoying!

Some of the worst arguments my wife and I have ever had have been over her chronic tardiness.

There are good reasons I refer to her as "the late Mrs. Blanche."

I'm home! Had fun! It was good to get out and catch up!

We went to a place called "Mongos." It's a grill where you put together the foods you want and they grill it for you.

http://www.mongosgrill.com/locations.html

The only thing is that she picked me up late and by the time we got there we had about 45 minutes before they closed
They close at 9pm! We didn't feel rushed though... at least not much. They did come around and ask if we planned on going back for more. We were the last ones in the restaurant and they kept the grill open until we were finished.

After that we went for some Gelati at a local place and sat on the outdoor patio.

We plan on making this a twice monthly event. Next time we are going for Greek food here http://homersrestaurant.ca/

The best part of the evening? Coming home and washing my face! I put on makeup today and I rarely wear it anymore, so when I do, I can't wait to scrub the stuff off! LOL

At our house it's my hubby. When our daughter was a baby, I could bath the baby, get her dressed, shower myself, put on my makeup, get the things together that we needed to take with us and still be waiting at least a half hour for hubby. Our friends know enough to tell him to be someplace 1/2 hour earlier than they really want him there.

I'm one of those anal folks that hate being late. I'd rather be 1/2 hour early and have to sit in my car waiting than be 5 minutes late.

But unlike one of the above posters, that wouldn't stop me from getting together with friends if they were lateniks. Hubby is a good example, he may be late but he's a joy to be with and is well-loved by our friends and it would be a shame to lose out on that fun just because he has a time problem.
