I just thought this would be a cool thread--it might help to mention what year you were married as well.

I was married in 2007 and walked down the aisle to Billy Joel's "She's got a way" a friend played it on the piano and sang as well.

I was married in 2005. I think (I can't remember!!!) it was the standard Wedding March, by Wagner (the "Here Comes the Bride" song we all know.) Isn't the reccessional song by Mendelsohn?????

A lot of my wedding is a blur--I was recovering from the flu the day of my wedding, and was EXHAUSTED. I had spent a year doing everything, except baking the cake and doing the flowers; we made most of the food, I made my dress and veil, and the Matron-of-Honor's gown. No wonder I got sick, and was exhausted!

I'm not married.....my brother recently got married and they had a harpist (?---is that what a harp player is called?) playing Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" while they walked down the aisle. At some point he also played Pachelbel's "Canon in D Major". It was nice.

It was Vivaldi-one of the four seasons suite of songs-I'll have to play them to remember which season it was.

Pachelbel's Canon in D. I've always loved the simplicity of that one.

GailC - we had the winter part of the Four seasons as 'register signing' music. It was always one of my favourite pieces.

We are having a guitarist and violinist play Canon in D. They played for us this morning here and it was so moving.

I want to walk down the aisle to Hedwigs Theme from Harry Potter. Still trying to convince people that I can!
Got 3 months to do so!

There's no place like home
Roughly 19 years, 6 months, 22 days and 17 1/2 hours ago, we walked down the aisle to Pachelbel's Canon in D. That would put it in 1989. It seems like just yesterday.......

I don't even remember.
It was a traditional and huge wedding, and was instrumental, but for the life of me, even though we picked it out, I can't remember.

I was married in 1974; the 'down the aisle' song was the standard "Here Comes the Bride". I wanted other music through-out the ceremony (including John Denver's 'Annie's Song', 'One Hand, One Heart' from West Side Story, and 'By My Side' from Godspell. The day before the ceremony, the priest called the soloist and told her that she'd have to come up with traditional songs for the ceremony, as the songs I wanted weren't on the church's approved list!
It still burns me up to think about it.

We walked down the aisle to Pachelbel's Canon. I was so nervous I practically ran!
Married in 1998 (had to ask hubby that one!).

We got married in 1980, and I honestly don't remember. I expect it was the standard wedding march because I'm sure I didn't pick anything. Our "song" at the time was Right Down the Line by Gene Rafferty - which is what we probably would have picked if anything. (side note - the wedding got planned in about 2 weeks, it's all somewhat of a blur). (no, it wasn't a "shotgun" wedding
)
