Hi
This is Jeanie from Hawaii. I just adopted 9-week-old kitten 10 days ago and I think he has already gained at least 1 lb. I am not quite sure if I am doing everything right and would like some advices.

Right now he is eating maybe 5 meals a day. He has a handful of dry food, 3 fish balls we made from scratching the bonefish meat, boil them, and shape into ping-pong ball size, half a can of wet food-kitten formula. Is this too much? And I have a sense that he prefers his fish balls than the dry food. Is it ok to feed him the fish balls as opposed to dry food? I just worry that although he is gaining weight, fish balls may not be nutritious enough for him. In addition, I don't know if the fish balls may increase his chance of getting urinary track infection.

He keeps asking for food and harrass us when we had dinner. He seems to prefer out food to his. Is there a way to train him from keeping away from our table?

Thanks. Appreciate your help!

Feeding too much fish can be unhealthy for some cats, especially males. I'd be cautious and perhaps replace it with chicken or rabbit (more natural to the cat's natural diet).
Kittens need to eat a lot. But if you notice him getting fatter, contact your vet or skip one or two of the meals.
