I have a cell phone, but only use it if I must. I hate talking on the phone and don't like when people bother me when I am away from home. Only a few people have my cell number.

I got mine when I started my business 4 years ago. Its still the same phone too as I just replaced the battery earlier this year.

We have dial up internet so other people can call on the cell phone. I never get close to using my minutes. I find it handy when shopping though and calling my mom when I'm driving home (not on the highway though).

I've only texted about 5 times so far and have to read the instruction manual to figure out how to do so!

I got my first cell phone 16 years ago. In those days they were a luxury.

Three months earlier I had broken down on the highway on my way home from my Mother's house. She lives an hour away. I was about 20 miles from home. It was dark and cold. I walked almost a mile before a car pulled over and the guy asked if I needed a ride.

Before you tell me how stupid that was let me tell you my mother gave me such a talking too! Even today if it comes up she scolds me. I know it was wrong but I didn't want to freeze to death sitting waiting for someone to find me.

Two months later the company I work for started offering a corporate discount for employees. In those days the phone was in a bag, weighed about ten pounds and you paid for each call you made. But that thing rode around in my car as my security blanket for ten years. There was no way I was going to hike up the road in the dark again if I didn't have to.

These days if I am out of the house my phone is with me. At the office its in my pocket. I turn it off at home.

There was a time a few years ago when I was having a hard time with my arthritis. If I was away from my desk or the work area too long my friend Cathy would be calling to check on me. She was such a worrier. Always thinking something might happen to me. She got me into the habit of carrying it in my pocket.

Now it's just a habit. I don't talk so much anymore but I have it if I need it.

I've a cell phone, but I don't use it much. I use it mainly as an alarm to wake up.

I use the alarm feature, too!

I was always at the vanguard of computer technology given my career but I was a little slow picking up on the cell phone. Now that I live where I don't have a LL, I have become quite attached to it.

Man, do I love to text! I so use those shortcuts - what r u doin 2day & 2morrow?

I recently got a blackberry and now I keep my phone on my person at all times unless it is late at night, then I put it on the charger and forget about it. Before this phone, my cell phone was used in the car and when I was out of the house and that's it. I also use the alarm to wake up if I sleep in for work or if I take a nap and want to wake up after a certain amount of time.

I don't use it much though. I just don't have that many people I like to talk to. The lady at the cell phone company looked up how many minutes I used last month, and outside of mobile to mobile I used 13 minutes. LOL I mainly just talk to my husband and text a couple friends here and there.
