My mum asked this question to me and I thought it was a good one and one I havn't got any idea of. I would say it would be the same as asking what are the negatives of some one eating fresh fruit/veg and meat every day which would be erm.. non..
but does any one know anything that I don't??

For the cat, none that I know of. (if researched and fed correctly)

For the owner: convienence.....(taking the time to research so you know what to supplement, you can't leave it out all day like kibble, etc.)

Thanks for the sites, I'll make myself a nice cup of coco and sit back and read. I've fed my babies a raw chicken breast each tonight (slightly warmed but not cooked). My mums worried I'm going to give them salmonela but that won't happen will it? Eek I've sort of jumped stright in so I hope they'll be ok. I'm reading the forum threads too. I think I've made the best choice
the only reason I wasn't going to feed raw was convience and cost but whats that matter when it's the best thing for them !?! I feel anyway..

The improperly done diet ... possible bacteria infections ( this is a risk in all foods though cooked should be less risky) ... improper balancing over the long term for the individual ( also a risk with commercial since 100% complete and balanced is not for all cats)... the time and effort on the humans part ( I at this pt only trust one raw commercial so when I do it , it is local sourced ( hours and hours of tracking down and picking up ) )....

OH and IMHO the BIGGEST some cats just wont eat it ... the best diet aint going to help if cat wont eat it ...

the local er vet here will test for all the bacterias in a raw feed cat as they have had issues ... the regular area vets have only seen a few issues and that was more improperly done
