How to dry a queen?

Long story short I have come into possession of a stay female cat with 5 kittens. I have decided to keep the mother, but am trying everything possible to get the kittens adopted out ASAP. The vet helped me wean the kittens, but the mother is still 'big' with milk. How do I dry her up? This is a concern to me because I want her fixed asap. Both my vet here and hometown will not fix her until she is dry for at least a few weeks. (Originally when I first saw her she had kittens, at the time I could not do anything about it, but I did start putting food out, at this time I expected the kittens to be big and moved on, to my very big surprise she apparently had a new litter).

I had a similar problem with my rescued mother cat. She's pregnant again because I couldn't get her dried up quickly enough. I hope you have better luck. The way I dried Loudmouth up was to wrap an ace bandage around her abdomen. It can keep any more stimulation from increasing her milk supply, and the tightness seems to help her dry up. If she is already not feeding her kittens at all, then you can ask your vet if there are any hormones, etc she can give to help the milk dry up faster.
