So, I breed Egyptian Maus and have been having some issues recently with a staph infection on one kitten. The vet hasn't done a lot of tests, but she is pretty certain that this kitten developed a rash of some sort from either a flea bite or a food allergy, and then the staph moved in. She is doing well on antibiotics and hibitane cleansing.

The queen Mau was fed Nutro Complete Care kitten kibble and Nutro Complete Care canned food, but she did not like the canned food at all. I tried various kinds, but she preferred just the kibble. The kittens have been raised on the same Nutro dry food, and I had been feeding them Go! Naturals grain-free canned food. They seemed to prefer the Go! food to the Nutro I tried.

A few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I were really stressed and I kept missing the feed store. So the kittens had to eat a few different kinds of supermarket food. Soon after this, the one kitten starting scratching at hot spots on her neck and chest. These ended up getting infected.

So, I am back to Nutro kitten dry and Go! canned, but I am wondering if I should try a different kind of canned food. Go! is pretty expensive at $2 a can, but it's not too bad divided between the cats. I just really want to boost the kitten's immune systems as they had a bit of a rough start. Their mom was on antibiotics just after they were born, and then they were on antibiotics as they were being weaned as they developed bad diarrhea. I think they just need to get their stomach flora to a good place. Maybe probiotics once the last kitten finishes her antibiotics.

I do suggest trying many ,many different wets that follow what you are willing to feed.
