Hi folks,

Just wondering folks - do you and your partner/DH/DW/FH/other go to bed at the same time?

I'm just curious because I'm a night owl whereas Kieran likes to hit the sack early. Luckily for me Kieran doesn't mind me having the lights on while I sit in bed and read or type away at TCS. Often he will go to bed at 10pm but for me it's going to be closer to 2am or 3am.

I work from either 5-6 pm at nights to either 11pm-1am so when I get home I like to have a hot shower, play with the kitties and relax before going to bed.

ETA: DH/DW/FH/other

Doug and I are both a couple of old poots!
So neither of us stays up too late.

But I am usually in bed and up in the morning first.

Nope. During the work week, I'm usually in bed by 9:30, at the latest. And he stays up till around midnight, sometimes earlier, sometimes later.

It just depends.
My natural rhythm of bedtime is and always has been 2 to 3 am, regardless of when I work. I have to really make an effort to go to bed early. I hate mornings, but guess that goes without saying looking at my bedtime and natural inclinations.

My significant other loves morning time but will stay up late with me most nights of the week, going to bed around 1. Late to bed and early to rise.

Nope, we do not go to bed at the same time, I wish we did, but we can't seem to agree on what to watch @ night, so I lay down around 9pm & fall asleep around 10-1030pm ish & he stays up & watches Conan O'Brien & if he's still awake will come to bed, if not he'll sleep on the couch (which we argue about constantly)...is this normal, for couples not to go to sleep together? Good question Sam!

DH works really hard all day; but even when it's the weekend or we're on vacation he's in bed before I am. I prefer to be up all night; but lately I've not even had the energy for that.

We always go to bed at the same time. Sometimes, if I can't sleep I will get up and go on the computer for a bit though.

Wow, I'm feeling like the odd one out. We got to bed at the same time and get up at the same time, even sharing the shower. But then again we are counting down to a wedding and still all cuddly, I do hope it doesn't change, I kind of like it this way. We spend time talking and being closer when we go to bed together. It's kind of sweet.

I guess I should mention that Kieran wont stay if I'm going to a cat show the next morning because it's normally to bed at 1am and then up at 3am!

I'm also an early riser too - so go to bed late and get up 7-7.30am usually.

My boyfriend keeps complaining about this subject..
He wants us to go to bed at the same time, but I can't get sleep that early. He has to wake up at 6am but I don't, so he usually goes to sleep around 12-01am and I'll be up 'til 3-4am. If he has night shift the next day, he'll stay up with me.

hmmmm, when he's actually here, he's in bed at 10:30-11... Lately, I've been going about the same. When I'm not sleeping well, or if he goes earlier, then my bedtime varies. Usually the earliest is 11. He gets up at 7am, I vary... sometimes 5:30
sometimes 8.....

I must say though, because I have sleeping problems, I am trying to get into a routine, and part of that is the time I wake up.

I usually go to bed before he does. He is a night owl and I'm not. He has to get up at 6am for work, but often times don't get to bed until around 1 or 2 and sometimes later. I have a sleeping problem and I am up all hours of the night, off and on all night long. I normally don't sleep but maybe 1 to 2 hours at a time and am up for 30 min. to an hour. Then back to bed.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
We both have laptops and like hanging out in bed, so we both get in bed at the same time (usually around 9:00pm), but either one of us being awake doesn't keep the other one up.
I'd say I usually fall asleep somewhere between 11:30pm and 1:30am.

Gary does always seem to have an energy boost at night, so usually ends up gabbing biz on the phone until around 11:30 - unless I'm tired and put my foot down. I can't fall asleep when he's on the phone.

But he's got OCD, so I've gotten so used to having the TV on that it doesn't stop me from sleeping (have a TV in the bedroom). On the rare occassion it does bother me, he'll just read.

We get up together, too - but we're biz partners. When we lived in a house we showered together. In the RV, there isn't room, and with a 10 gallon hot water heater, it needs 1/2 hour to heat up inbetween showers.
If we don't have to travel into NYC for morning meetings, we're usually up around 7:00am. If we do, we're up at 4:00am.

I'm not a night owl, and Gary isn't particularly either. He's just an insomniac.

Rob and I have been going to bed at the same time since about the time we started living together. He used to get up earlier than me when I didn't work, but now we both go to bed between 9:30-10:30pm, and wake up at 4-4:30am. We're both tired people
Our days are pretty long, so bed looks amazing to both of us around that time, lol. And share the shower from time to time as well.

We've been married 1.5 years now, and I hope it stays that way for much longer too!

We used to, and on days off we still do. On workdays, I get up at 4:30, he gets off around 2:30 or 3:00, so he usually stays up and unwinds until I get up so we can see each other for a few minutes before I go to work.

We're both nightowls to some extent, Rob more than me, so our bedtimes sort of coincide, but not totally. The common territory is about 11 pm to 1 am. If I'm really tired, I might crawl in as early as 10, and if he's really wired he might be as late as 3 am. Sometime he's in bed before me, but mostly I'm first.

Given our druthers, we get up at pretty much the same time. Since he's retired, he gets his druthers most mornings, but week days I'm up before him.

i solved the problem, watch tv and fall asleep on the couch so he has to take me to bed!
But I do fall asleep early anywhere between 8:30 - 10:30 these days.
