This has actually been quite the story, really. My home tests were negative. Yep. BUMMER DEAL. BUT, would you believe that I am still late? Like almost two weeks late. SOOO...I did the whole blood test thing since many people have told me that sometimes there isn't enough HCG to detect on a home test.

The blood test was negative. I kid you not! SOOOO...now I am trying to figure out why Aunt Flo (that monthly friend!) is not here. It sucks because we have to wait until she rears her head before we can start trying again! UGH!

It shouldn't have to be so hard, should it?

Carrie:

It shouldn't be, but it is sometimes.

Remember, that stress can make you late. You hear time and time again of couples who give up trying and then get pregnant.

I am wondering if it is stress, too. I did get an abnormal pap back earlier in May and that REALLY had me freaked out for like a week or so.

Maybe we should just stop TRYING! Maybe that will work for us

Movin' on up!
An abnormal Pap is common. Many factors can affect those cells: hormonal fluctuations, birth control pills and even vigorous sexual activity. Depending upon HOW abnormal the reading is, additional tests may be required.

Mine were mildly abnormal for years, due to the pill but, it was nothing to worry about. Just relax and let nature take its course.

Right here! :)
I have been thinking about you, wondering if...
I´m sorry it didn´t work this time! Don´t stop trying, you just started
It must be frustrating when this doesn´t go according to scedule, but that´s a thing we can´t really expect to go completely on scedule, so don´t give up, you´ll get there!!!
I keep my fingers crossed for you!

Umm...I could possibly be overstepping boundaries here...so if I do feel free to ignore my post. That and I've never been pregnant before and I am not trying to conceive.

Have you been on any contraceptives in the past? May take time for them to completely exit your system. Best to ask your doctor about this. This is probably something you don't want to hear.

Have you though of ovulation kits? They may be of some help.

Prenatal vitamin and mineral supplements. They prepare your body for a higher chance of conception, though exact doses are best determined by your doctor or pharmacist.

If you are stressed, reduce your levels of stress where possible. Couples who simply stop trying and conceive tend to be less stressed about things. Add romance and have fun. It's not all about schedules and temperature monitoring. (Well it is there but hopefully you understand the point I'm trying to make.)

I think I'll stop here before I offend or if I already have, I'll stop.

Since I am now a ttc pro
(I'm on break though...too stressful!)
I couple of things I learned
some ttc tips!
1. Af is not always late when you think she is. Not everyone has a 28 days cycle, and not everyone O's on day 14. My cycle is 32 to 60 days!! So sometimes I O as late as cd 38!! Also the stress of ttc can delay O. SO even if you have a normal 28 cycle, ttc can stress you out so much it will throw it off.

2. Temping works. Take your temp every morning at the same time before getting out of bed to find out when you really O. It stays up 12 - 16 days after you O. If it drops AF is on the way, if it stays up you are more then likly preg.

3. The other one thing it that is sure fire sign for me is cm. If you want to know more about that pm me because I think that is to much info for a cat board

so that is some of my ttc knowledge. And after a year of trying with no luck, and now having 6 kittens....I'm just taking a break!

I'll second that. Just wait until you hit your 40's. Abnormal paps become a way of life.

I'm 28, and have had abnormal paps for the past 3 years. They are due to the fact that I have the human papiloma virus, and it causes displacia on my cervix.

Try not to let the abnormal paps stress you out, 90% of the time they go back to normal on their own eventually. Mine were abnormal for 3 years, and last year I had my first normal one since I had give birth to my daughter. I was so freaked out too, but now I just take it with a grain of salt. Unless the doc says its something serious of course.

You guys are so cool...do you know that?

I did buy a book "taking charge of your fertility" that talks about charting with temps and things like that. SOOO much info! I have been watching the CM, but mine is kind of weird..the patterns of it, anyway...but that could be screwed up because of the whole stress/late factor.

We shall see what this week brings!!! My dr. told me I could get progesterone to make me start, but now I am not so sure I want that...I mean....I had what looked like some SERIOUS fertile CM right before my montly was supposed to start...sooo...maybe I ovulated THEN and when I had the blood test, implantation hadn't happened yet. I don't know, really. I will have to talk to her before I do anything. I am not the expert with these things!!!

Thanks for all the support and advice!!

Carrie, I once never got my period in a month that we thought I might be pregnant. It happens. *sigh* I know how frustrating it is.

I bought a temp taker and it came with the tcoyf cd program for the computer. I used that to take chart my temps. It was really helpful. I learned i can O anywhere from cd 20 - 38 and that af ALWAYS shows up 12 days after O for me
I figured I would have a baby by now! But now i have a job I like and all these kitties so hubby and I decided not to "worry" about it and it will happen when it happens.

Do you go to any ttc message boards? I know of a really nice one if you are interested you can pm me
