Hello everyone:

I'm still taking care of this gorgeous kitten who I named Jack. He is getting cuter by the minute! He is so much fun and soo sweet and loving, we are so crazy about him. I was going to find him a home last week, but he was sick, he had an infection and a fever so he had to start another week, and that is the worst thing that could happen because now I love him even more. He is good and healthy now.

My brother found somebody who wants to adopt him, the lady promised to keep him indoors all the time and she said she will neuter him. But still, I will need to talk to her myself to see if she is the right person to have him. This is too hard!
here is Jack:

Update on Jack's possible new mom.....She has been disqualified by me!! She called me like an hour ago and I asked her some questions, she didn't even want to answer them, she just wanted to meet me somewhere to get Jack. I didn't like that at all because I need to know things before giving him away.

I asked her if she has had cat before, she told me the she did have a cat indoors, but he ran away. I asked her if he was neutered and she said no, that is a big problem for me. I need somebody who agrees to neuter him and keep him inside. I just didn't like her voice and the way she talked, she didn't seem like she was excited and happy aboit getting him, she just wanted the kitten and that was it. Soo, I told her that several people were interested in adopting him and that I was going to make a decision soon. That was it. I will not give jack to her.

Am I been unreasonable? or too picky? I know you all muct thing I just don't want to give him away (and that is partly true), but that is not what made me reject her, I want the best for Jack.

You are not being unreasonable. You have to be picky if you want a good home for him. You will find a good home for him. He is a handsome fella.

Oh my heart - he is gorgeous!!
I know how you feel... I also have a little foster with me, and I have a feeling I will be very selective when choosing a house for her. Otherwise...... She will just stay here with me. I do want to find her a home, but I also need to be sure she will receive the love and care she deserves.
Good luck to you

You are not being unreasonable at all. Neutering is a simple procedure and will help the overpopulation of cats. It's not like it costs a lot
especially with the low cost spay/neuter clinics.

Your brother needs to understand that you want the best home for Jack, and not every home suits every cat.

He is a beauty, and deserves the best... You are doing a good job screening out the "losers".

I don't think you did anything wrong at all!
Every kitty deserves a good home where someone will take care of them, will kiss and love them and take them to the vet, who cares enough about kitties to neuter or spay and to sound upset at the loss of a previous cat.

Sounds like a bad kitty owner to me.

As for Jack, gosh he is gorgeous.

I don't think you're being too picky at all. Those are some simple, basic questions that she should have been prepared to answer. A shelter (at least here) would have asked much more. You are doing what's best for Baby Jack, which is a very good thing. Your brother will just have to deal.
