I'm so excited! I've been wanting a pointed cat for a LONG time, but they are really hard to find around here. I'm going to go look at him this weekend. I can't wait!!

Do you think he could still get darker than that and become a flame or hot cream, or will he stay about that same color?

Hi Kara,

He's a sweetie!
- I think his colour will darken up. The pointed babies normally do. The good thing about dilutes though is that their body colour usually stays pretty clear.

I think the color of the kitten you've shown is called a flame point, but I could be mistaken. He's adorabale!

When I got Maggie, there was a little boy in the same litter that was red pointed. I sort of wish I had gotten him too!

These baby/adult pictures of Maggie show how much her points darkened. I've been told that Maggie is called a lilac point, because her nose and toe leathers are gray.

Edit: I just did a search on cream point and flame point, and it's really hard for me to tell the difference!

I just say cream b/c his color now is the same as my Gus' fur was and he was consider a "cream". I'm sure this kitten's points will get darker when he gets older, though, so maybe he will end up as a flame.

I don't know if his points will get darker, but I would think that they would, at least a bit. Certainly they will spread. But gosh he is so adorable. Flame or cream, he's a CUTIE!
What a pretty little boy! I'll take him if you don't want him.....

He is adorable.

re: points.... the points will usually darken with age.... depending what's in him (breeds) it could take a year or longer (like ragdolls who take 2yrs or more to get their full colour).

Is "red point" the same as flame point?

I was looking at other cream points pictures, and found a red point raggie.... whose points look more like the kitten you have pictured.

No matter what he is, if you get him, LOTS of pics, especially as he ages... it is soooo neat to see the changes, especially like the pics Pookie poo posted.

That is very true. I have a lilac point and his body color is just perfect!

Lilac points don't have gray paw pads, they are pink. I think your cat is a blue tabby point with white.
