i don't know what sorta street my freind lives in but he told me that one of his neighbours accidently ran over his nextdoor nighbours cat. the cat was still alive but still pretty injured, instead of taking the cat to a vet where it would of had a chance to live the nighbour was so freaked out it had run over the neighbours cat they decided to break its neck to kill it, and then they buried it in thier back yard! my friends next door neighbour was asking everyone if they had seen her cat and noone had seen it. i think a few months later the nighbour who ran over the cat went to the other neighbours house and brokedown and confessed to running over thier cat and killing it! can you believe that?! if that happened to me i would strangle that neighbour, especially when the cat would of survived if it was taken to the vet!!

also he told me that his other next door nighbour had brought rabbits for thier 2 kids, and when the kids didn't want the rabbits anymore they were trying to starve them to kill them!! my friend said he had to sneak over the fence to give the rabbits food and fresh water! eventually the nighbour whos cat got murdered advertised the rabbits in the paper for the other nighbour and gave them away to good homes. but imagine that, how can people who don't want their pets try to starve them to death to get rid of them instead of trying to rehome them?!!

argh! that makes me so maD!!

OMG! This is so terrible! I would run over the neighbour and then brake his neck! Well, at least I would want to do that...
Just terrible...

At least the SPCA and the cops. Breaking the animals neck is inflicting harm on an animal. He could have dropped it at a vet and left. What an insensitive JERK!

IceAngel, well if the neighbour called up the RSPCA and fingers crossing that her call is answered by someone who has a brain, (my experience with RSPCA has been dreadful), I am sure that they would get involved and possibly the police as well. There are laws in place to deal with this. And depending on how things progress, the body of the poor cat may have to be exhumed for forensic evidence.

my Husband is a Police Officer hier in Ga. , so I had to ask him . He said #1 the owner of the cat was resposible too , since the cat was lose on the street . #2 the person who was runing over the cat was not doing that with attention . that person may also thought that the cat would not stay alive and may have just took it out of it missery . The person also had compasion since he gave it a burrial in the yard and went , even a few month later to the owner to confess .So there is no Criminal Act in any way .So the Police would not be able to do anything at all ..... I am very sorry for your friend loosing that way her cat . That is one more reason why I have most of mine inside now . The ones are outside are the drop off's and HEY I am new on the block and one I got from the shelter 10 years ago . All fixed and all have shots .

You're kidding right? I'm sorry but that is just not acceptable. Yes, the owner was partly responsible because the cat was an outdoor one, but to say that the neighbor may have just assumed that the cat wouldn't survive and thus took it out of its misery is nonsense! And then to bury it where it lived and keep silent??? OMG! What the neighbor should have done was gotten out of the car, checked the cat, and immediately taken it too either the neighbor whose cat it was, or to a vet to have it checked. What if it just had a broken leg or something else that was treatable? And then to go months without saying anything, while your poor neighbor wonders what happened to her cat?! That's compassion???? I don't think so. So I guess that anytime an animal is hit by a car, the driver should just make his/her own assessment of the animal, and if it "looks" like it won't survive just kill it right there on the spot, huh? And then a few months later, maybe call or write the owner a note just to let them know what happened. Give me a break!

the man could have handled the situation better but I don't see a criminal act here either.

JakeBrayandAmber , yes it is not right how that person handle the hole thing . I do agree on that 100 % . I only said what the Law would have done .... yes nothing at all . But it is by the book and the Police cant change that . My husband don't agree on that but would not be able to do something . So really the hole Law need to be changed . I would like that , then more animals would be helped in many ways .
