I was curious what the results of Sharkey's informal poll would be, so I made up an Excel worksheet to display them. This is VERY general as a lot of people listed multiple types of food for multiple cats.

Dry food results

Wet food results:

I thought it was interesting. Wellness is a very popular food, but so is Nutro. Even despite the recalls. I had to return two bags of Nutro food, but I have stuck with it as well. My cats love it and they do really well on it.

I should try Wellness canned. I have been using Go! canned food, and I wonder if Wellness might be cheaper.

Thanks! Very interesting how a dry food of a certain brand is high but their wet food is low (e.g. California Natural) but other foods are consistently low (e.g. Science Diet). Obviously, Wellness seems to the be the all around favourite. There are only a few Go! feeders and no Now! feeders (that replied). Interesting. I feed Now! dry food and it's expensive. For a 5 lb bag, it's $42.00! I also buy the Go! cans and they are $1.99 per 5.5 oz can, which is roughly the same as Wellness in the same size can. However, Wellness offers the 12 oz can and I can get it for $2.89. I know others in different areas, Wellness is much more expensive though. I used to feed Wellness wet but it was too rich for my adult cat and my kitten doesn't like it.

I'm suprised at the wet food results. I have to admit to feeding my cats the kitty crack (Fancy Feast). I used to feed Natual Balance until her, Royal Highness Princess Picky Pants Magdaline Marie, decided that she would only eat FF.

Remember the results only reflect what the people who responded to the question said they feed. It doesn't necessarily, although it might, reflect the overall feeding habits of TCSers. A lot of people didn't respond. Still interesting though.

That's very interesting! Thank you for taking the time to do that and sharing the results.

A lot more people feed EVO dry than EVO wet.
