I don't know. I am going to a new vet and I'm not sure how they will proceed.

Linda I understand how you feel...
a few years ago, I found a small lump on Sadie's chest, near a nipple. After discussing it with my vet, I make the decision to have it completely removed, including surrounding tissue, instead of a simple biopsy.

We were fortunate, it was benign.
I don't regret having the whole thing removed, first time around.
Under similar circumstances, I would make the same decision again.

My suggestion is...
discuss this with your new vet, then make your decision about what to do.
If you are uncomfortable with the vet's opinion, don't hesitate to seek another opinion.

I am holding you and your precious Bijou in my thoughts.

I wanted to share this with you: A few years ago Severino had a lump on his lower leg, I just happened to find it when he was laying next to me, of course I panicked, as it was;
Bella
was already diagnosed with cancer
and had just had her leg amputated
So I rushed him into the vet that day and she operated immediately, she just took him from me, I was in shock
I was scared to death. Four days later the results came in and it ended up being benign, Thank God, but it was scary
S0 I pray this is the case with your Bijou

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Almost there! Hang in there. Sending lots of calming vibes to you now.

....I also want to second Lei's opinion. If you feel at all uncomfortable with the vet or the advice, go for a second opinion.

Thank you all again for your vibes. We appreciate your care and concern. I'll post as soon as we get back from the vet tomorrow.

Sarah, I'll definitely kiss his sweet little nose for you. He loves to be kissed and loved on. He closes his eyes and purrs up a storm when I kiss his cheeks, neck, face, head, paws, yes he even likes me holding his paw and kissing it, his tummy - you name it and he likes it kissed. I even kiss his paw after he's used the litterbox so you know it's love!
Mind you I do kiss the top of the paw versus the pad.

Rocky's had a lump on his side for years; two vets said it was a subcutaneous cyst and recommended leaving it alone. It's not painful and hasn't gotten any bigger.
Tons of vibes for Bijou and you!
