Gosh, just saw this thread. Glad to hear that it's not bad. But sending more good for Bijou.

That is good news. It is probably just a cyst like Lucy's was. I believe they can tell from the color of the liquid that is inside.

That is good news. I'm with everyone on spending the money for the biopsy. If you're like me, I could run that much up with visits to vet because I was being paranoid. I'm much more relaxed now that Carly's cyst was removed and identified.

This sounds very hopeful Linda.

Be sure to remind us the day before Bijou's surgery, so we can hold you both in our thoughts.

I am glad the vet doesn't think it is cancerous, but agree with others, do send this lump off for biopsy. I would want to know, 100%, instead of do a wait and see

I just relayed the news to Topaz and she swooned with relief.
Give the boy a big hug and kiss from us!

Linda that sounds great news, so
it doesn't come back once it's removed

Sending hugs to you both!

If you can afford it, I would go ahead and do it as well, because you know you are going to worry if you don't. Hopefully they can remove it easily.

Continued vibes for Bijou

Hi. Sending lots of happy vibes to you and Bijou.

I'm glad you switched vets when you felt you weren't being listened to!

My Teazer-cat had a lump on her leg that sounds very similar. They removed it and biopsied it and she's doing beautifully and she was 10 when they did the procedure. I was really glad I did. The vet said that it's either cancerous or not and if it is cancerous that there are levels of how cancerous it is. Teazer's was a very low level, very unlikely to reoccur once the original lump is thoroughly removed. She's now 15. I'm very glad I did the surgery and the biopsy because even though I would like to have heard non-cancerous, I at least knew what we were facing in the future and peace of mind is a very valuable commodity.

Get better Bijou!

Oh Linda, that sounds so promising!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm also SO PLEASED to hear it sounds like a great place!
AND they have a cats only vet!
That's really got to be a relief.

I'll be sending vibes for a successful surgery. I'd get it biopsied right away, but I think it's really cool they even provide an option!

That sounds very positive.

Like the others, if you could afford it I would suggest getting the biopsy done now just for your peace of mind.

I switched. The vet I loved has moved from the clinic where I was going and it's quite a distance from us. I tried the Guelph Animal Hospital and they also have a cat only vet. I was impressed with the staff and the vet. Bijou was quite calm considering he was at the vet. The last place we went he would start growling, not that he would bite or anything, he just would get this low growl. He didn't do that at this new vet. The staff and the vet were petting him and he seemed very comfortable. He was curious and wanted to get down and walk around in the exam room but other than that he seemed A-okay.
