The last week here has been a nightmare. I had tons of company the week before, am in a new house in a geographic location that is very different from where the kitties grew up. Long story short, vomiting and explosive diarrhea started last Friday, vet thinks something foreign to the cats came in on someone's shoes. Bloodwork shows some kind of highly contageous bacterial infection (white counts in two 34,000 and 27,000, majority neutrophils. Poor Pumpkin had a temp of 105 today. ) So I now have four cat on Baytril and Clavamox (per internal medicine consult), plus all getting fluids as well. Two are still eating, one who just stopped today and we are hoping Mirtazapine will jump start his eating, and then Conan who had to have the E-tube placed today. He is on day five of not eating and is no longer willing to be syringe fed by mouth. Thankfully his chemistries looked great today, no HL showing so far.

This is the first E-tube I have dealt with. When Fletcher had his 10 years ago it was a peg tube. Anyway Conan is making some strange snarfing/snoring type noises. Anyone had their kitty do this with an E-tube? Also he is pretty agitated about having the vet wrap on his neck. He keeps trying to walk backwards. like he is trying to back out of it. Hopefully he will calm down by tomorrow. I am already freaking out over all of this, so not sure if I am just in panic mode or not. I will ask the vet tomorrow, but would like input from others who have been down this road before. Sometimes it just helps to know others have been there done that.

We could use some major fight off infection and firm up the poop vibes for my boys and some don't get sick vibes for my 3 girls.

Thanks for the vibes Goldy, we can use them.

Vet said Conan is ok making the noises. He actually picked a little at some food today so that is a good sign. The other three are eating much better today and so far only one liquid diarrhea. Hopefully the meds will knock this all out quickly.
