Good morning my dear friends…

Today I have the privilege to post here your daily question for the Lounge…
I want to mention that all questions here are just for the unique porpoise of fun and of course, to stay in touch with all members, and to know what do you think about it…
of course sometimes some questions are a kind of silly but funniest in the bottom!..
… so lets begin…

Have you ever traveled by plane?, Do you enjoy it? where do you go? are you not suffering for the change of time zone when you fly far away? or you have a Plane-Phobia?
...

...So, start to post here!...

As a child, many times.

My father was a pilot of small planes (under 8 passengers) and also an instructor. We went up many times in ultralights and such.... The best was flying around Toronto at night. The lights were stunning.

When I was 11/12, I traveled to Portugal. That was my only trip on a big plane. My dad's ex-wife was Portuguese, and had family in Portugal. We went over for 1month in the summer time.

It was a great experience for me

I had my first kiss there
I met a nice young man there, who could not speak english, I could not speak portuguese. But we both could stumble with french, and my step sister could translate portuguese to english. We were bf/gf for 3wks LOL.

We would communicate with some french words, drawing pictures in the sand on the beach, and hand signals (not sign language).

Great question, and thx for the happy memory.

Yes, I've traveled by plane and I've hated it every time! The longest trip I took on a plane was to England in 76. I'd much rather travel by train!

I like flying but hate take off and landing. My ears bother me so I have to pop sinus pills during the trip. I much rather drive if we can.

I love, love, love flying. My BIL is a pilot and has taken us up in smaller planes as well as my younger brother when he was younger and had his pilot license would take me up. I love the G force of the small planes. I would fly anywhere, anytime in a heartbeat.

I haven't been in a helicopter and I really, really want to do that.

I guess the farthest I have been would be Scotland which I visited a number of years ago. It was a interesting trip because it was a family reunion of sorts for people with my Surname which has been around since the 10th century.
I didn't notice the time change going because they are ahead of us, but did have a bit of jet lag returning home.
Flying in large planes doesn't bother me at all, however I did fly to Fort Albany in the N.W.T. in a small plane a couple of times which was a little scary because of weather.

I've flown a fair bit, I guess, even though I don't consider myself a traveller. My first flight was at the age of 13 on a Viscount (propeller job) between Montreal and Sept-Isles, Quebec. We had turbulence around Quebec City, but it didn't bother me. I've flown many times between Vancouver and Montreal, and a couple of times into the Maritimes. Most recently we flew to Mexico.

Other than commercial flights, I did get to go up with Rob when he was still flying gliders. If I had had the $$ resources at the time, I might very well have taken up the sport. My but it's special being 5,000 feet up in a clear blue sky and almost total silence!

I have a severe flying phobia. I have done it 3 times but will likely not fly again if I can help it! It is an extremely traumatic and terrifying experience for me and I just don't think I can do it again. Any vacation I planned would be ruined for me due to the anticipatory anxiety before the trip, and during the trip because of the looming return flight. Just going to the airport to pick someone up is almost enough to give me a full blown anxiety attack.

I have flown to visit my sister in San Diego, many times. It's about a 6 hour flight. I always take a book, and usually sleep through the longest portion of the flight. I tend to be pretty unlucky with seating arrangements. It seems like I'm always seated by some screaming, crying toddler. I now carry earplugs in my purse at all times!!! I've also flown to Alaska, which is another long, boring flight.

My ex-husband has his private pilot's license, and had a Cessna 182 when we were married. I used to love to fly around with him in that little plane! I don't know if he still owns it or not anymore.

Yeah, I like to fly! It's so much better than driving (faster, and no motion sickness)!

I have flown many many times and have many stories ...... from flying in an electrical storms, to the landing gear not coming out, I have flown on really small planes, really big planes, to Europe, to Asia, South America, the islands. Travel has always been something I love.

I have only been on a plane once. Between Edmonton Alberta and Prince George B.C. I was thirteen I don't really remember much. I wasn't afraid.

I have been to Hawaii four times.
The first time I went on a plane was on stand by to Hawaii.
I was stuck in the middle with some rude man.
My husband was in the front of the plane.
I have also flown to Albuquerque,New Mexico,New Orleans,Louisiana,Dallas,Texas,San Diego,California,Las Vegas,Nevada,Phoenix,Arizona,Tucson,Arizona,Los Angeles,California and Salt Lake City,Utah.
The Salt Lake City flight was terrible.
The weather was so bad and we were being tossed around.
It was a very scary flight.
We used to go to Las Vegas 1-2 times a year.
I love the window seats so I can watch out the window.

What about me?...
I never flew when I was child, I was a tennager when I got my firts fly to Mexico City....
last year I took a fly to Oaxaca City here in my country...
There aren´t a direct fly to that city, should to go firt to Mexico DF (in the center or the country) and translate to other fly to arrive to my destin.,...
was adventure....

I think not plane-phobia, but I think nervous as all of you before to get the plane...

Cool question, Rigel!

The only other country I've flown to is Australia - 3 times. I've flown into Sydney twice and Melbourne once. The time difference was minimal so it didn't affect me

In NZ I've flown to Auckland, New Plymouth, Nelson, Christchurch & Dunedin - all LOTS of times. I've got 6 flights booked this year - 4 or 5 to Christchurch (45 min flight) and 1 to Nelson

I love flying - not a fan of take off but I do like landing.

I've traveled by commercial plane more times than I can count. Lots of places in the US, plus Korea a couple of times, the Virgin Islands, Bosnia, Switzerland, and Lithuania a couple of weeks ago. My father also owns a small plane (Bonanza) and we travel in it on trips to see our relatives - none of the hassle of driving OR commercial air travel. I also have about 325 one-way flights from my skydiving days.

I enjoy flying in general, but long flights crammed into coach class like a sardine are not pleasant at all. Give me a small private plane, a leer jet, or first class on a commercial plane and I'll travel all day long.

As for the jet lag - it depends on which way it is and in which direction. When I made my most recent trip to Europe, the time change was +7 hours. It took me at least 4 days to get used to it, but when I returned to the US I got back on EST right away. The easiest adjustment I ever had was when I went to Korea. They were 13 hours different, but they had me working nights so I never had to adjust to the time change at all.

I realize after reading a bunch more posts that I neglected to cover the subject of jetlag...possibly because it hasn't really been much of an issue for me. The greatest time difference for me has been three or four time zones, but in situations where I could go with the flow and not be too much affected by it.
