Hiya everyone! I'm so glad to meet all of you fellow cat lovers! I wish I wasn't the only "cat lady" where I live, lol. I found my first babies when I was 13 and our family dog had cornered a kitten outside....I went and picked her up and then heard some more meowing from in the woods behind our house. My brother and I went out there and in a black garbage bag was more kittens! They had tore open the bag and were scattered around my backyard area. We found 3 in total. The girl kitten that I had saved...her brother near the bag and another who was very scared...the one that was scared ended up going inside my fathers car near the engine and when we were driving he fell out and ran off...what a sight that was...we tried to find him/her again but with no luck.

We ended up taking the girl kitten and her brother in and I've been in love with cats ever since. The boy cat is still alive and is almost 16! He's such an old man, lol. I have to blend his food up because he has some bad teeth.

I took in my sisters cat who she was taking to the pound because she had a new baby. I actually got in trouble some years later because I mentioned how she goes through animals so fast...(giving them back, or taking them back to the pound)

For the past couple of years I've been feeding the strays/ferals in my area and had taken in 3 males so far (I posted my story in the ferals section) I just took in another female this past week and got her fixed and I'm now trying to coax her from underneath my bed

So now I have 3 boys and 1 girl...plus a dog...so full house here!

Some pictures

Old Man Snoozy (16yrs old)

Frankie (he was named after Frank Sinatra because he had blue eyes until they changed colors, lol)

Ollie

I just took this the other day...was a shock to me because none of my cats lay/sleep together at all!

Wow! Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! I really appreciate it! I live with my mother and I'm converting her to a cat lady to! Ofcourse she really has no choice as she knows how much I love to take care of the strays and in the end they will eventually live with us, lol.

My first cat that I fed outside was a big boy named Tiger...he used to sleep on my porch and give lots of loving...then I found out that my neighborlady didn't like it when he would walk on her property so she went down to the people who actually owned him and they ended up taking him to the pound!! I was so darn angry!

After him I fed a nice black and white male I named Martini...he was such a good boy and was a lover to! He got up to the big, busy street near me and was hit by a car....thats what a neighbor told me...I went up there to find out but there was no sign of him
So I have to assume thats what happened!

Then one day I was coming home and I heard this horrible crying and meowing...it was so loud that my mother and I got in the car and went around the neighborhood looking for the owner of that pitifull cry...it was a tiger cat that was stuck with his leg in a fence just dangling. He was a young cat and very small and I ran up to him and pulled him free...the lady on the other side of the fence was banging it with a hammer...I guess trying to loosen his hold but it just made the hold tighter! The lady who actually owned him came out and thanked me and then months later she asked if I wanted him...well I really didn't want to get attached to another little guy so I delclined. A couple months later the lady moved away and who did I see looking around and wandering the streets but the tiger cat!! So I gave him a home!
He was such a loving cat and actually thought he was a dog because he used to roll and roll in the sand here...and he loved my good friend yellow lab and loved to climb onto roof tops!

Sorry for such a long story...its just I miss them so much and its good memories to share. I named the tiger cat "Tiger" ofcourse (lol actually Tiger #2) He only went out at nights but one day I couldn't find him to let him in the morning and thought he was missing...i called & called and he came home and curled up on the couch behind a pillow. I thought it was odd so I pet him and left him alone thinking he was tired. Well the next morning he died underneath my mothers bed...I got a necropsy done and the vet said it was consistant with a vehicle strike. The kids around here speed all the time. Its just hard I guess...but I enjoy thinking about how great of a friend he was.

I have more to share but I've written a book already! lol. Thanks for listening!! Clare
