I was going to show Cleo in the next Fresno CFA cat show which was going to be the 2nd week of October.
I also was going to show Cleo the 1rst week of October in TICA.
The problem is both shows are on the same dates now.
I will do TICA on Oct 2nd for sure but need to decide where to show the two other days.
It will be my first time showing in TICA since I can not go to the Reno show in July.
I also was told that Friday shows in TICA are 4-11 at night.
I thought they were like the other days.
What show do you suggest I go to?
The TICA show is 50 minutes from here and the CFA show is almost 2 hours from here.

IMO since you never tried TICA yet - go with that one. Depends on how well she is doing in CFA tho.

I'm debating about September shows. We only have two CFA shows in the area and would normally go to the local one in the cities. Jack would be an Open in Premiership there and this would be the first adult CFA show (he finalled as a 4 month old kitten with 2 other Oci kitten entries).

But there is an ACFA show in Wisconsin that has a great line up in judges and he's been doing very well in ACFA. I think I'll get him started in CFA and see how he does in the alter class. His first adult ACFA show will be in August in Wisconsin.

Don't you just LOVE the decisions.....

Yea its hard to make a choice when they are on the same day.
Cleo got finals as a open in CFA last month but I am not showing her again until August.
My Mentor advised me to go to the TICA show as of now.
She is going to see what the judge line up is in CFA when its posted.
There is only one judge listed so far.
I do not know anything about the TICA judges that will be there.
I do not even now if Cleo will do ok in TICA but its worth a try.
I can see how you are stuck with Jack since he is doing well in ACFA.

True, but he does have at least 5 adult ACFA shows before the end of the season. But I need to get him started in CFA too and grand him in both.

If I do go to the TICA show there will not be another one until Jan in Lodi.
The rest of the shows will be CFA.
There is at least one CFA show every month after August that I can go to.
My next sphynx will be a show cat.
I hope to have it by the end of the year.
Of course I need to start looking by August.
Jack was well worth waiting for.
I hope he does well and get his Grands.
I think everyone I bench with will be showing in the CFA show and I do not now anyone that will show in the TICA show.
You have a post with out Jacks picture in the picture section.
I think you forgot the link

Yes I know - I tried to delete the post but couldnt' do it. My attachments were too full.

Anyway. You probably will not find very many TICA people in CFA. In our area we do have a lot of the ACFA people the show up in the CFA shows. And you would find TICA and ACFA people showing both.

CFA tends to be pretty snobbish compared to the other two (IMO).

You are right about CFA being snobbish.
I have seen alot of the snobs there.
The breeders I benched with last time do show in both.
The ones I was with first time hate TICA and told me not to show there because they do not like it.
So did my friends mentor.
The most snobbish people there were the Persian people no offense to the Persian breeders here.
We asked if we were in the right parking lot and the lady was such a snob about it.
Then she was in our row and acted like you have to have a Persian to be in her group of people.
Then another Persian person said sphynx and the other newer breeds do not belong in CFA.
I just ignore people like that.

Bet you had to bite your tongue on that one! I don't like some of TICA's policies or how the judging is, but that doesn't mean I don't like those that show there. Its just not an association I want to show in.

I know a lot of people (in here) and in ACFA that show TICA - I have no problem with that - its what they like.

It ws hard not to say anything but I knew it was better not to.
I do not quite understand the judging in TICA even though it was explained to me.
I guess it will be easy after the first time in TICA.
Its your choice what to show in anyway.
I know why some of the people in CFA do not like TICA.
They made that pretty clear when they were telling me not to show there.

I talked to one of the ladies I benched with at the Fresno CFA show and she will be at the TICA show.
She also told me that there will be a Rex Congress at the show and Sphynx are included in it.
It will be Sphynx,Peterbald,Devon Rex,LaPerms,Selkirk Rex,Cornish Rex and American Wirehair.

Well, isn't that welcoming and a nice conversation starter? LOL

Good for you for showing Cleo, I know you will have a good time wherever you choose to go! Good luck.

I'm so sorry you've had that experience. I think any breed that can reach a NW has a very sturdy place in CFA! Perhaps the Persian person just prefers a cat with a lot of fur. That is fine, but that doesn't mean the Sphynx doesn't have a place in the fancy either

Try not to let the silly people get to you. There are many nice people in CFA. It can be tough to get to know them at the one-day shows as so much is going on at once, but don't worry, you'll meet nice people as well.

Thanks,
It did not bother me.
She just was a snob and said that about all the newer breeds.
I have met nice people already.
I benched with Mary Eber and Jerrie Wolfe at the last show.
I am going to join Marys cat club.
I have to go to 3 meetings first then I can be voted in.
They put on the Pleasanton show which is a 2 day show.
Mary is the club president.
