Well, so now that we know Luna has ringworm, I'm totally paranoid about me and Alex getting it. So, we cleaned the apartment (for the third time since Thursday) by vacuuming, bleaching, Lysoling, putting stuff in the washing machine, etc. I then got paranoid so I went and bleached myself!

That's right, I got in the shower with a cup of bleach (diluted somewhat with water) and a sponge. I sponged it all over myself from head to toe, and let it sit for about a minute before rinsing it off. Hopefully, if any ringworm WAS trying to grow on me, that killed it.
I think I killed a bunch of skin cells, too, though, since my skin is all red and dry now. Oh, well, I'll just use a boat-load of lotion.

Hey Viva, be sure you wash your cleaning agents off really well. Lysol is toxic to kitties.
It has phenols in it that can cause some really bad health issues. So if the cleaner is anywhere that cats can get it on the paws, it needs to really be rinsed super good.

I am sorry, I guess I am not making your day lately am I?

Viva, I think you need some of those disposable isolation gowns that medical people sometimes wear. Maybe then you wouldn't feel quite as paranoid about catching ringworm.

Movin' on up!
Viva, go to a thrift store and buy some cheap tent dresses. They work just as well as the hospital gowns and are cheaper. Sometimes, I see hospital johnnies, in the thrift stores.

Val Pledge is fine-

It is Lysol and bleach that you have to watch out for-

my friend got ring worm from her cat on her neck and down her back because I guess her cat slept on her pillow or something, then she did.. She went to the doctor and got rid of it pretty quick tho..

I really hope I don't get it.
But, she's been sleeping in my bed for a week and a half before we knew she had it. She's kept in my bathroom now, but how long does it take for symptoms to show up? I was sure I'd get it, since she'd been on my bed.

Maybe we just caught it really early on, so she wasn't so infected that she was leaving spores everywhere? Or maybe I'm somehow resistant to it. My dermatologist told me when I called asking about it that some people are predisposed to it and others aren't.
