Our cat has developed a skin allergy recently, & we're unsure of the cause. The vet has put him on prednisolone, which he has been on for 2 weeks now, he's been down to half a tablet a day this week, & the allergy started to reappear yesterday. We took him back to the vets today & she recommended we put him on Hill's ZD for 6 weeks, which we're not really keen on because he's so fussy, and a change of food would probably be a bad idea. He has Felix fish & meat trays, & he came up in a huge rash the other day after having tuna, so we're thinking of switching him to the meat selection, rather than the Hill's ZD. Are we doing the right thing?

Is he regularily being fed fish? My first thought is he is allergic to fish....Do you feed other meats? Is his food grain, soy based? Has his litter been changed lately? Has there been changes in his life recently that could have caused him to be stressed out?

Just what I was thinking... ASK the vet about Royal canins limited diets and if you can use Natural balance limited diets
